INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

DH is attempting to build me a coop for the BO's. I had a vision & bless his heart he's trying. It's not pretty & a few times I was holding my breath, but I am glad he put the effort in. He keeps saying he's a Boilermaker not a carpenter & I rebuttal with it's the first homebuilt coop so it's a learning experience. I decided to coop each breed separately & call it Coopertown. Lol It's gonna be a general store, church, saloon, school, jail, bank etc. wanted to be silly & unique with our abundance of coops lol Again, first is not pretty, but thankful he is trying to support my addiction of chickens. Lol

Love the idea... the multi building with names is very quaint.
DH and I work in construction so I too had visions of some beautiful mansion. Not quite how it looked when it was done I can tell you. After counting the chickens yesterday I decided I am going to spend some time over the next few weeks building a couple of tractors to seperate some of my breeds. He is not allowed to have any input what so ever.

It is amazing what you can do with some trim wood and paint if it does not quite make the desired finish.

Glad your DH is being supportive though, that helps :D

Edited to add this picture... I bet it looks alot better than this

Been working on our coop all weekend I think it is all most done. We are restoring a 40 year old coop.
I will get pic later today. We only had to buy a few 2x4 the rest we had around here and we use a old
telephone pole in the run to run the wire. Not very good looking need some paint. But I think the
Chicks will be really happy.

Yay... Will feel really good when it is done. A lick of paint can make the world of changes. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Thanks. I will keep posting pics. There is so many things you can build with pallets. I love building things out of pallets. My wife wants me to build her a patio set using them as well. Here is a pic of the one she wants.

I am loving this, what a great use of pallets... Can always add the round wooden wire spools as side tables :D
Going to show DH this later.

He saw a picture of a sofa carved out of the side of a dead tree.. he is liking that too. I told him I was not helping him man handle that into the yard.
I can not find the picture, but this is close enough.

Time for everyone's favorite game... GUESS THE CHICK! This is my freebee from McMurray. What do you guys think I got?
I would guess Cuckoo Maran or possibly Black Langshan. REALLY leaning toward Cuckoo Maran though. Totally just a guess.
