INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

yeah, I asked about them in another thread and just got a response. I'm disappointed for sure. They're still beautiful, but not what I thought I was getting.

Nothing to be disappointed about! Easter-eggers are gorgeous and they're full of surprises, both in how they feather in and the egg color they produce! They add lots of color and variety to your flock and to the egg basket! I have 6, all sorts of colors, and no two lay the same egg color. My personal favorite egg color from my EE girls:

These girls are serious eye candy:

Although some of them are a bit on the, err, derpy side.

Those are some pretty ladies! I'll research them a little, I'm sure I'll love them just the same! I'm a softie for pretty chickies. Lol

Okay, then...not frizzle but your silkied cochens....where do you get those?

Well, it's complicated. They are exceedingly rare apparently. They crop up every once in a while in bantam Cochin lines, but no one seems to be breeding for them specifically. The one and only farm I was aware of hasn't updated their website in a few years and doesn't respond to emails anymore from what I've been told. I've seen a few posts around BYC about them, but they're all either from inactive accounts or no longer have them if they had them in the first place. I had always wanted them, so it was something I was keeping close track of and jumped on with both feet when I saw them for sale. I just happened to see an ad for them on Facebook last year, where the person bought hatching eggs and then decided she didn't want to continue with them after they hatched, so she was selling them off. No idea where she got the eggs in the first place, though. Long story short, if you want these guys, you almost have to hope for a miracle.

Edited to fix something

So- I asked the kids in my chicken raising class to find out what Egg Song means. They are watching videos from @Faraday40 on training their chickens and she had a great video of an egg song. So, I think I messed with the kids minds a little. Have you ever Googled "Egg Song"? This is what I found:

@pipdzipdnreadytogo what is the genetics of silked cochins? Is that what I have with my Silkie Cochin mix boy? He sure looks a lot like yours!

And your one EE looks like she has some frizzle feathers on her neck- but that is it!
