.cluck~ my prego cat is due on the 1st.... yeah, I saw her get kitty raped and counted the days... we brought her in a couple days ago b/c our only other cat got hit on the road. She is LOVING it in the house! So glad she is litter trained.
It hasn't rained here yet! I mowed like a crazy lady thinking it would storm at any minute. Got it all done.
I set a timer for my bantams coop, hoping it turns on in the middle of the night. I think they know a storm is coming, they are huddled in the corner like when it stormed a couple days ago.

We have several cats alot of them are outside cats and 1 got prego. We noticed it awhile back but now she looks like she is bout to pop. I didnt want her to have them outside for fear of them getting killed. But now she is outside again :( she only comes around every couple of days.

So far haven't had any storms or rains since Tuesday night. I was late feeding then, about 8:00 PM, and unloading feed when the thunder started cracking overhead. Said, "Chickens, tighten your belts--you're not getting fed until morning!" and headed for the house. My poor Maine coon cat was terrified; he kept running through the house trying to find someplace to hide, but the noise was there wherever he went. The other 2 cats were okay with it, and the dogs just stayed in the carport until it was over. The chickens didn't seem to mind, but the peacocks screamed with every thunder clap. They scream with any little noise during breeding season anyhow.

Have eggs in lockdown and a tolbunt polish pipping through!

pbirdhaven, sounds like your peafowl took lessons from my Guineas. Every time thunder rumbled, any time the rain picked up, they were all screaming. And that's a year-round thing for them. Oi...

Welcome benishamino! The coop you are considering is nice, but small. There are many examples of coops on the BYC site. After people have mentioned buying eggs on eBay, I checked out the chickens category, which is huge. There are many coop plans and coops on eBay to check out. I'm also warning you that there is a phenomenon that takes place once you have chickens. Suddenly you become obsessed and all you want to do is interact with your flock, and you want more. I am an unusual member of this Thread because I only have five hens and I think I'm the only one who didn't buy spring chicks to add to existing flocks (I am land-locked in a subdivision). However, the priority of my day is going outside and doing yard work with my hens, no matter if it's freezing or raining. I had no idea that chickens were so entertaining and personable. The great thing about this Thread is that it's a fun support group for chicken/bird obsessed people! Sorry to get off-topic, but a coop for two chickens is just unrealistic. : - ) Btw, did you graduate from Herron?

Is anyone interested in a new designed little giant incubator? It has a computer fan installed in it and purchased new a couple months ago. Still in great condition and believe I still have the box for it. I'm asking $30 for it.
