INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

That's pretty much what I do when selling chicks. A few years ago I once made the horrible mistake of putting out an ad for a free rooster. OMG All the crazies were calling.
You have a good point! I have put free roosters on CL before. Both times I got nice ladies who came to get them. The one was going to raise them so she could learn how to process them and the other one sounded like she was just going to keep hers. I guess I got lucky. I think after this I will put them for a nominal price instead of free. It never occurred to me that people might take them for shady purposes, but it makes sense. Those are the types I would NOT want to have my address!

So excited!!! Going to be picking up this beautie on Wednesday!! 2 hour drive but totally worth it! Only blue Muscovy within 3 hour drive!

Is a 2-3 year old Female Muscovy considered old? Will she still lay good amounts of eggs?

Here's the final design. The shirts will be $10. They are super soft & don't shrink (tri blend, only 25% cotton, pre laundered). Let me know if anyone would like one & what size(s) you'd like! I work in Broad Ripple, so I figured that's where people could pick them up! I can ship to you too if you don't live close to Broad Ripple!

I have not been on here for awhile. My daughter being in a theater production followed by all of us getting bronchitis (again) and trying to finish the home-school year out strong has not left much time for fun (or sleep)!

So, I'm hoping someone can help and point me to the right person. I can't for the life of me remember who was making the chicken shirts (I do remember you work in Broadripple!) and since I have not been on here I have no idea if any post was made on if the shirts are ready yet. I only ever communicated via post, not pm so not sure who it was. I am thinking maybe @hbrown322 - is it you??

But now I can't even figure out how to mention someone on here- I click on the name but it doesn't seem to do anything. Don't quite have the energy for figuring out all the new stuff right now!

Here are my newest loves: Daisy (5 weeks), Cookie and Bubbles (6 weeks). They just moved into the outside brooder yesterday- too stinky inside and maybe it will help my bronchitis to have them out there!

@Leahs Mom It was a nice visit! Thanks for coming.

I didn't plan well when setting the eggs, so I've been thinking about how to handle the integration. One complication may be the two Muscovy moms with their ducklings that are due Monday. Hopefully, they will be observing the chicks, and gosling, while they're penned and know that they won't be a threat.

I will probably have the chicks in a pen until they've grown some, and then start having them sleep in the chicken side of the barn. We don't have any mean hens now, and Cali (the rooster) is good with chicks, so they should get along alright. The cockerels will be separated and finish growing up in the garden, and the chicken tractor will be moved in the garden for them to sleep in at night. By that time the vegetables will have grown enough or have been harvested that the cockerels are not a threat to eating them/digging too much, but they can have some tomatoes. Another problem may be if one of the Ameraucanas is a boy, because we won't be able to butcher him, unless he does not have a good disposition.

@JanetMarie

I'll be interested to see how that all goes. The garden is a great idea for the boys. It's nice that you have several areas fenced to use for that kind of thing. And its GREAT that Cali is good to the chicks. I think I want one of his sons!!!!!

@Nyla thanks for looking out!
