Somebody hit a Canada goose on campus last night. Couldn't find her or her friends today, so I'm guessing the grounds people moved them. Think a truck hit her because her body was fine but her brain was swelling bad when I was getting her off the road. I'd thought maybe her wings or feet had been hurt, in which case, she might get rehabbed, but with a brain injury like that, there was nothing anyone could've done.

How old do you think my chicks are? We have only had them 3 weeks and they're huge!

My guess is 3.5 to 4 weeks old. They'll get head feathers around 6 weeks old and look like mini chickens then.

My ducklings are 3 weeks old now. They are getting so big! I am still updating pics on my thread in the duck forum if anyone is interested.

In the first pic left to right is Mocha, Blossom, and Java Joe. Lil' Bean is in the back. She is now changing enough that I can recognize her more than just size, but she is still the smallest.

My current adventure is to build a Chest Freezer or Fridge into a Incubator!
Just got to find one...
Anyone got any ideas as for a heat source for it?

The cave set up was in the house. There is a heater that hangs from the shed ceiling that I had to use a few times. I think I still had a cave for then to go under when they went to the shed, but no heating pad.
