I'm keeping
I'm choosing to keep all but one lavender Muscovy, because I only have 2 males and 2 females. Leaving me open with 4 spots to fill. Lavenders can't be bred by breeding non lavender colors together. In order to get Lavender, you need Lavenders or carriers! It took me 3 years to find Lavenders! So I'm not letting them go! I drove all the way to Necedah, WI ( 18 hours there and back) Just to buy 1 Juvenile Lavender and some lavender hatching eggs! I ended up bring home 2 juvinales one being a lavender male and one being a chocolate male, 2x one month old ducklings that were lavender and 38 hatching eggs. Issac was the juvenile lavender, Cashmere (female) and Auroa (male) lavender 1 month old ducklings. I also brought home 38 Lavender hatching eggs. Only 3 eggs hatched. 1 male and 2 females.
This was them at 2 months old.
IMG_2759.JPG I raised the 3 ducklings to 4 months inside my house because it was winter and it was cold! I thought at 4 months old they should be okay! NOPE! We got hit by a huge snow storm which buried everything! The poor male lavender passed away from the cold. A few days later another passed away, leaving me with only one female from the 3 ducklings I hatched out of 38 eggs. That duckling is Maggie!
1.) Issac - Male - Lavender

This was Issac when I first got him. He had a broken wing. (This was not angel wing. Angel wing is "Angel wing, also known as airplane wing, slipped wing, crooked wing, and drooped wing, is a syndrome that affects primarily aquatic birds, such as geese and ducks, in which the last joint of the wing is twisted with the wing feathers pointing out laterally, instead of lying against the body."

I wrapped him up everyday for a month till fully healed.

2.) Maggie- Female - Lavender
She has the white head gene sadly, but I'm willing to work with it!

3.) Cashmere - Female - Lavender

This is Issac. Aurora, Cashmere, and Maggie.
I unfortunately won't be able to keep Aurora because he is a male. In order to keep him, I'd need 5 more females for him..

Day 7 (last night, not tonight), 5 of the 6 silkied Cochin eggs look like this with little babies wiggling around in them. :love :love :love Sadly, we have a quitter, so down to just the five. Also, the Dorking eggs are definitely clear still. :barnie So, no Dorks this hatch.

I wish that I could come get some, but my hubs is already drained from my ducklings and me needing to get them into their permanent home. :D plus, the chickens got new digs. We are wiped out!
It looks like you are keeping a good group.
Hope you are moving east instead of West- you know closer this way. :D
