INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Starting our tomatoes and peppers! I'm trying more heirloom varieties this year so I can save seed. The bottom right is sweet million cherry tomatoes, but am trying the blue berry heirloom to possibly take its place.

We had some very delicious heirloom tomatoes last year & the year before. Technically I think they're called Cherokee Purple, but my family simply called them "ugly tomatoes." We were given a few surplus plants from some one who bought some chicks from us. Because the tomatoes were so good, we saved some seeds.

They never looked purple to me.... but "ugly" .... Yes. That they were.

Both your daughter and the little rooster look very happy!

I have some of those seeds too! I'm fighting space but may need to expand my garden this year!

I keep forgetting to take pictures but we've combined our goat herds. Zero issues. Belle our LGD won't allow fighting so Eve and Mocha just said OK. I just hope none of the the does kid this week, temps predicted are awful. Mocha is due any day. Coco isn't far behind. I've got no info when the Nubian are due or if they are bred, ugh.
We are at no one is laying again with our chickens, several days now. Muscovy are picking fights so I know they will be laying soon! The Pekin lay wherever. I'm going to get out of all but the Muscovy ducks. The 2 Pekin ducks I have leave eggs everywhere and hard to find.

My adopted son Roger lost his wife to cancer yesterday. I was barely an adult myself when my MIL at the time asked I take the 2 boys, 11 and 13. Totally out of control.
Char was very young, 58! Very invasive took her away quick. Chemo didn't make a a bit of difference. Within 6 weeks she was gone. :hit Please be aware of your health. Char was a powerhouse, LPN nurse, just an awesome lady. But she put her health last priority. Take care of you so you are there for your family and have a long healthy life.

Sorry to hear, deepest sympathies for you and your family.

Taking care of yourself: cut out all sugar, flours, grains, commercial feed lot and factory farmed meat, eat a mostly alkaline diet (vegetables). Disease cannot exist in an alkaline body. Don't go out to eat, even if gone away from home and hungry. Just take that time to fast, and give the digestive system a break, and fasting allows the body to focus on healing.

I could write more or elaborate, but I'll stop preaching.

I am in Indiana near Chicago, but my only poultry is a pet pigeon.

I used to have a large vegetable garden. I now have only room for two tomatoes a year in pots. I've alternated each year trying to find the most productive variety in these conditions which isn't tasteless but havent found one I totally love yet.
