INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have a pair of guineas that are looking for a new place to live if anybody's interested. I'll post more pics but I'm fairly certain it's a boy and girl, one of them definitely says "buckwheat"

It will take a couple of days for it to ferment. Then you will see it bubbling. Right now you are probably seeing air bubbles. After a few days it will have a sweet sour smell. Sometimes it could take up to 3 days for it to get started depending on temps. I would let it sit for another 24 hrs and then check it out.

Ok will do thanks!

Kab- great pics! As it has turned out I have too many Roos too. I got packing peanuts in 2 different orders and they are all Roos. I think I have 15 of those. I got supposed pullets, 2 bared rocks, gray California's ( roo and pullet), and 2 black australorps( also a roo and hen)! My own fault I ordered and picked up at RK and Tsp strait run buff Bantys brahmas( not looking good) and millies( also not looking good) and sebrights(2 Roos and 3 pullets). So I'd say my overall average is 50/50!! Not counting the free peanuts which I had no control over!! Gonna get pretty noisy at my place!

Just catching up on posts. The picture of your son, AATH, made my blood boil! Especially after the response you got from the authorities.

I have three dogs, a collie, a cattle dog, and a border collie mix, and no close neighbors, so mine are not penned. They know not to leave the property and do a good job of keeping everything else away. The collie takes personal responsibility for his chickens. This is Simon when he was still young and not filled out yet.

My girls are starting to use the lower roosting bars.

I'm sorry you are in my same situation. I want to keep them all. I probably will until they get a little older. The only one crowing is my partridge bantam. I'm getting a blue silkie pullet this weekend possibly, so I will see how they do. They are young still. I hope you find homes for your roos. I won't let mine go anywhere they will be killed, so it make take me a bit haha!
