INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

At this point just raising. I currently have. Mixed flock of sex links, naked necks, d'uccle, polish, and old English game bantam. All are hens. Next month I'm picking up hatching eggs for (hopefully) cream legbar, Marans, silkies and possibly others and a shipment of blue laced red wyandottes and Easter eggers chicks. I don't think I have time to actively show, but not ruling it out.

I missed your pics yesterday. Nice setup. You coop looks alot easier to clean than mine. lol
Great pictures cluck acres and crafty chick! Ill have to try and get some pics of my coop. I think I posted some in another thread on here. Ill try to find them
Edit: here they are from earlier this year. Where the temporary white wire pen is on back wall, that is where my lay boxes are located. I also added another double roost on the left wall to mimic the right wall.

And the front storage area.

Thanks. Yea it isn't too bad to clean, just back the dump cart to the doors and shovel it out. Dad was able to get me a section of rubber roofing materials they were using at work, so that is on the bottom to protect the wood floor. I plan to insulate it and finish the walls this year as well as a coat of paint on the inside.

I just set 18 eggs in the incubator. The girls really came thru for me in the last few days. 6 eggs friday, 3 eggs saturday and 12 today. So in the last 3 days they laid 21 eggs I had 18 good ones for incubating. They are due to hatch February 9th. And guess what MY birthday is February 9th!!!! What a present for me!!! This is a variety hatch. Silki,Easter Egger, Australorp, and a few mystery eggs.

Woohoo! Congrats! I really wish I still had a rooster or two and try hatching my own eggs. Hopefully this year!

Haha well thanks for the offer, but i do have some coming from Meyers his march and will be buying hatching eggs to set mid February. So ill probably have Roos to sell/give away/ butcher myself!

Hi Everyone!

I hail from Elizabethtown and would love to be added to the group. I think it's great y'all started a new one for all us Hoosiers! I've been a BYC member for a while but this is my first post. I'm relatively new to chicken (and even newer to duck) 'motherdom' so I tend to just 'lurk' and glean as much info/advice as possible

. This site has been invalueable for this novice and I tell others about it whenever I come across another enthuseist.
I was totally smitten with my babies from the get-go!

I have a mixed flock consisting of 9 hens (LF:BO, BA, BR, Lt. Brahma and 1 bantam ??), 3 roosters (LF NHR, bantam OEG and bantam Cochin)... I know, I know!

), 5 ducks (KC, WH, Ancona, Blue Swedish) and 1 KC drake.... and I LOVE them ALL! My DH tells me I'm "Ate Up" all the time over the way I carry on over them.. but I know he gets a kick out of them as much as I do, LOL.

I'm glad to see there are a couple of others in my neck of the woods. Have probably passed you sometime at one of the local farm or feed stores

. Would love to see your setups/flocks or get advice/swap stories, etc..

If anyone is, or knows of anyone, wanting to rehome/sell a duck or two, preferably Ancona, I might be interested. Hen or drake.
Howdy, neighbor, and welcome!

Westport, here. Glad to see some other southern Indiana chicken folks on the site. Glad to see you northern folks, too, but not as likely to run into you at the feed store!
