I'll get it figured out eventually! Thanks to everyone who has helped! They are pretty funny chickens so it all works out in the end. Old Salt, thanks for posting butcher tips. We have 2 Cornish cross that will be going this weekend.

Thanks for the offer, but I am going with Laced Wyandottes. I have several 2-month roosters, Orpingtons and Wyandottes. I'll pick out the friendliest and give it to Shirley. She has some health issues that keep her in the house mostly. Her husband said she has been outside more this spring messing with Rooster Cogburn than she has for years. I have a chicken tractor that I won't be needing, so I'll probably drag it down there with the tractor along with a rooster and a couple of hens. Give her something to do. She has been over to inspect my chicken operation several times. Before that, in the 38 years we have lived here, I think I may have seen her twice.Old salt- sorry about Cogburn!!! Coyotes are running rampant here too!! And I too have a RIR ( younger) roo you are welcome to. And mine are friendly. Sure you don't want to replace him??!! And I love you post.... You crack me up!!!!
So Peabirdhaven haven suggested Corid for my Millie's. any idea where I can get some? Tractor supply? He's still fluffed up but his crop is full for the night, but he's just lethargic. I gave him some of the baby drop stuff tonight. How can you tell if the crop is clogged?
Crafty- so any babies yet??!!!![]()
Thanks everyone for all of the warm welcome wishes. Mother2Hens, those are Lilac breasted rollers. I took that photo while in Tanzania this spring, in Ruaha National Park. They were BEAUTIFUL birds.Welcome to the Indiana Thread zippy! What are the beautiful birds on your avatar?
Note to pipd~ Thanks for the IDs on your chicks! I haven't heard of some of those breeds. I love the patterns and textures.
P.S. Rangi's Indiana Fan Club is happy to hear of her speedy recovery!
That does sound aggravating. I hope you either get your eggs or a refund.I'm so frustrated right now. Saturday I bought 2 dozen surplus eggs from a breeder on Facebook. I will be the first to admit that I got a good deal. In the ad he was to ship out on Monday priority with tracking. Come Monday I hadn't heard anything from seller which was unlike him seeing how he pretty much responded all previous times within 20mins from me messaging him and Facebook showed he replied on a mobile device. I end up sending a message around 9pm asking if they went out that day. He replied an hr later they did, but did not forward tracking info. I immediately ask for tracking but he never replies. Next day around noon I ask again and he replies almost immediately that the tracking is n his desk at work and he is having family trouble (confirmed from his personal Facebook page) and get it to me in the morning (today). Again, no tracking sent. I've sent a message twice on his farm page, posted on his farm page, and sent him an email. He has posted on his personal page since I've tried contacting him. Thankfully I paid with PayPal thus able to get my money back, but its just frustrating. If he really sent them out on Monday, I typically receive eggs in 2 days which should have been today. Once out of the many shipments I have received it took 3 days.
I understand things come up, but how hard is it to send a buyer the tracking info or atleast just track it and tell them when to expect it. I have all my egg orders held at PO, but I'm typically late to work when I have to pick them up. Work is typically ok with this as long as I prearrange it. That's kind of hard to do when I don't know when I'm receiving them! When do I file a claim with PayPal? I'm afraid if I do and he supplies a tracking number and I have another issue, I wouldn't be able to file another claim.
It's just frustrating especially when the ad stated I'd get a tracking number and he even followed up Saying I'd get it this morning with nothing sent.
