INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my junior flock. :D

They all look great but I love Rangi! I hope she keeps he black dot under her eye. It has always stood out to me in the pictures.

I love that about her, too! :love Such a stinker!

pipd~ Wonderful photos as usual. Your flock is looking more adult now. They're a very interesting and beautiful collection.

They are, they just grow up too fast. One of my adult Sebright bantams was eying them through the fence and the pullets were all the same size or bigger than her already!

I loved this, thought I would share it as well. Rangi at 8 days, and Rangi at about 7 weeks, sitting on my windowsill. :love

Rooster shoes, it's the latest fashion! They look more like Hot Wheels shoes, flames coming off them like that. She is so hot, her shoes are on fire lol.

And the duck picture continues to amuse me.
I knew the rooster shoes reminded me of something! Hot Wheels. The duck picture disturbs me because it looks like it's in a straightjacket with its "arms" tied up. Btw, Rangi's spot by her eye is her beauty mark. : - )

Hope hogster/Deb has found some answers about the possible Marek's situation-- please give us an update when you have a chance.

A friend mentioned the Bartholomew Fair in Columbus is starting soon. I went to their website. It looks like it opens this weekend. Is anyone going? If so, is there a day to see chickens and other livestock?

Speaking of fairs, Lawrence County 4-H fair begins July 6th...we have a much smaller fair but if anyone happens to be there, keep an eye out for a mini lop named Ironman in the rabbit barn :) He's my 7 year olds pride and joy!

Ugh. Woke up to a buff orps that had her head stuck at some point in the night. She was dead when we found her. She was definitely my favorite

.Then the yellow, turned white chicken that the kids HAD to have a while back that I've been babying from day one died also. She was one of the sickly ones I bought at Tractor Supply. We got her this far so I hoped I could pull her through she ate like she was always starving, never walked right, and slept 90% of the time. Not sure if she was just THAT sick/hurt or if it was because I'm so new with chickens.
I am so sorry for your loss.

don't blame yourself, mother nature sometimes chooses our favorites. It really stinks tho.

Yes very funny! I will have to put a mirror out there for them.

On another note, we ate our first eggs this morning:

I counted 9 eggs. That's $122.22 per egg. Way more than what you would pay at a world-class restaurant.

Having gotten no eggs yet, mine cost infinity. Right now, I'm making even Obama look like a cheapskate.
