Maybe you should post some tips on their pegboard. See example below.

That is fantastic. I just may have to do that..... Not sure they're literate quite yet, though...

Just love my geese. The goats... oh my, Bocephus is a handful of fire, and Sugar is my doll baby! Bo is a stinker and all buck. "we" are learning its not ok to butt Mom with the horns! If he is mad he butts my leg and aims them horns on either side of my calf. NOT OK!

Same deal, we get pinned to the ground. He is a stubborn boy. He is usually sweet too, but gets mad because Sugar gets to go back to the goats house first. I tether them when I go out in the afternoons, and they "move" with me as I work on our fence line. I switch off who moves first but Bo has figured out I put Sugar away first! Even though Bo is still a baby, he dominates her. So Sugar always gets to eat first or she will get pushed out. I am getting the supplies to build his new house when he goes to pasture next month. I do not want to have Sugar bred til spring, and Bo is maturing faster than I counted on

Hi all! Two quick things!

If using gravel and sand to cover your run, how deep should each layer be? 2 inches of gravel and 2-3 of sand?

The other is an observation is that has anyone else noticed the sound that young hens make at night was used as the Tribble sound in Star Trek?

Tattoo, excellent tribble reference. They do sound a bit like tribbles, eh? I remember those episodes, weren't there 2?

Love the new sign! No *chickening out* indeed!

Nightfall, I wouldn't worry about where they roost, as long as they have access to a high roost when they want it. I worry more about my coop being secure than where my chickens roost. Sometimes they all sleep outside on a roost, our coop and run is very secure.

So frustrated. Thought I did something horribly wrong because me RIR with sour crop died...THEN husband tells me he's noticed this one acting odd for over a week but didn't tell me because he didn't know what was wrong! NOW I have an odd acting buff orp! No signs except she's just standing.. She was fine yesterday. Eating, drinking, playing. Poop looks normal, crop is empty. Just no energy it looks like. Now what!?!?! I think I messed up with the upbeat post not long ago.

Well it looks like 2 of the 3 chicks that I hatched are roos and there going through there ugly stage at 1 month I dont know if that's early for cochins but there getting ugly cute lol ill take picks some time this week but tomorrow I have to take my dad to the hospital he has a rash or something going down his head to his eye brow I think it might be a bout fly or something in that line and if anyone wants kittens let me know ....is it possible for a black Cochin to have a white tip on its wing if it carrys a white gene????

It's possible, yes. Back when I was researching recessive white when you first posted about your chicks, I was reading something about there being a difference between black and black split to white. I will see if I can find any info on it. :)

I hope you made them clean it up afterwards!

If only it worked that way lol. I just laugh and hope the next time I catch them in the act so they can get disciplined. But they don't get into anything when I'm home. My min pin is a defluffer of toys and shredder of paper when I'm gone. The other two do pretty good. I just gotta make sure things are put up out of reach before I leave.
