i might be getting 4 baby chickens and a duck this saturday

( very excited to get a duck) but i have a few questions about ducks. how do you tell a male duck from a female duck? do they need swimming water when there babys? will they eat the same food as baby chickens? will they fly away if i let them free range(when it gets older)?... cant wait to get my babys lol

chicks number one and two are in the brooder fluffing up. my wife calls them Val and Cupid.
