INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

It's like impossible to find folks local to take chicks especially roo's.. I have two adult drake Muscovy's I'm trying to place as well as 4 wk old mixed breed chicks. (Buff Orphington mixes, Maran mixes).. trying to find homes from the roo's or suspected roo's before they get any larger.

If i was closer i would be interested.

thought you animal overs might like this. This morning when I went out to feed, my horses had icicles hanging from their lower sides and as they walked over to get their food they sounded like wind chimes!!

I cant handle this! Today is Day 20 for my first batch of eggs and I hear chirping and one Araucana has external pipped! Come on chick! More eggs go into lockdown tonight!

If I can't sell/rehome my extra Roos, they will just be butchered, while I enjoy the chickens and treat them better than most chickens, I still have to have the mindset that I am keeping them for food (meat and eggs). This way I don't get too upset if they get hit by car or eaten by predator. Regardless, it's still hard to get rid of any, even retiming sucks! I really miss the ducks, but I'm just not set up properly to have them, hope they are laying good for you Cluck!

Wow, it's been busy on here!

Gotta tell this story. Went out last night to lock up the chicken pen. Slipped in the snow and yes I broke my arm!!! So now w everybody is blaming the chickens for my downfall!! Pun intended. I've fallen off horses, been bucked off horses. Fallen in creeks and ponds. And many other accidents. Out to simply lock up and say goodnight and finally got my first broken bone! Knew it had to happen sometime.

Wow that's too bad. I haven't had a broken bone in 20 years, hope it doesn't happen again. Heal quickly, maybe some fresh eggs will help you heal faster!

What a bummer! I've been so fortunate to never have broken anything. The worst I've had has been flat on my back in the mud and slime and poop!
