INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I forgot to mention that I am promoting my facebook group Ashley's yard sale and trade. For anyone on facebook looking to sell anything or buy anything give my group a try. The main rule I have is you have to accept my friend request or will be removed from the group.(I put this in place for the spammers) or if you want to be my friend on facebook look for ash mat. my profile pic is green water. Also is anyone on here on skype, myspace, google+, ect? I was just wondering as I am on most of these sites but don't have any friends.

I wonder if the one with a tumor on it's head was a crested duck?
Also, as hard as it is to see any animal in trouble at stores, I highly encourage everyone to not "rescue" the animal if you have to pay money. IMO, you are not rescuing, but rather supporting the business and allowing them to profit from selling sick, injured, and diseased animals. If you were to buy it, they will just replace it with another, thus continuing the cycle.

Well said. And if you notice one that appears ill, a clerk should be notified. Indiana has code (a law) prohibiting the sale of sick or diseased animals

. When I was in animal cotrol years ago, we had to go in and shut down a pet store for that very reason.

I notified the manager every time I see one but they say just leave it over there

! I am from Indy as well but we don't have a coop up yet. Still getting some ideas on where and what to build it. Sounds like a good flock you got. We feed our chicks n ducklings chick starter and mealworms oh and babycake. They are not to crazy about the babycake, but they LOVE the mealworms! lol! Ashley in Indiana.
Hey Ashley.

How young is too young for mealworms?

Hmmmm........ I don't know the answer to that. we will have had ours for a week come friday.(I am counting from when we got them from tsc) I am not sure how old they are. I am a first timer to chickens and ducks too. Also do they need the grit? They seem to be doing just fine without it and I don't have any as I don't give it to any of my birds. But I do give them crushed oyster shell, mineral and cuddle bone.
