INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hi all. I've been around but not much on the board busy with so many things but I am glad to see there is a new active group. Does anyone live in NW Indiana in Calumet Township that has chickens, just curious.....
Hope you are all enjoying our lovely NOT spring weather. I know my chickens are more then ready for this cold stuff to go away (me too as I'm tired of carrying buckets of water....)

This HOOSIER just found this thread via an e-mail. I mostly hangout in the main forums to read and give advice.

We are located North of Indy in Westfield and we have a few dozen chickens. Glad to add to any discussion around here! Oh.... Pictures!

I was the one who sent you the message through the email. Seen you on another thread! Glad to have you hear!!! Your pics are great oh and so is the animals.

These look like a great idea, however the ad comments that chickens will only take off the top and move on when they have plenty of grazing space and will only scratch until they dig everything up if their space is limited.. well, mine have the whole 2 acres to graze in, but only want to scratch and dig in the same places over and over again... namely my flower beds.. LOL.

I know what you mean. I dont think i have flower beds anymore. They took over an claimed them. I even had those old wine barrels with flowers in then and well its just dirt now because all of a sudden they want to get in them and take baths. DW yells at them all the time here lately. I told her well we have chicken beds instead of flower beds. OH BOY THAT WAS THE WRONG THING TO SAY!!! These graze beds would work pretty good tho in a pen. You could possible put veggies in there instead of grass as well.

Welcome. I noticed you have Appenzeller's. Will you have any fertile eggs for sale?

Welcome to the thread Zoo! We have a member list that shows who all has what type of poultry / fowl you may want to check out. Let us know what you have and we can get you on the list as well! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Auj_Vtm33rSpdC1LT3NiWkd0eGVkdnJHRm9Gcy1GNGc&usp=sharing
