Ok, so the last set of 5 silkie eggs had a horrible hatch rate. They were all alive prior to putting in the hatching LG. Only one hatched. It is a forced air LG (computer fan blowing up). Temps were between 99 and 100. Humidity was 65%. I cracked open the remaining 4 eggs to find 4 fully developed chicks. Most had absorbed their yolk sack, but one did not. They were not shrink wrapped. Maybe drowned? humidity too high? Can anyone help with what went wrong? I'm having horrible luck with silkie eggs. I'm going to recalibrate my hygrometers to make sure they didn't change prior to hatching. It seems this new designed LG does not work for me. I'm pretty happy with my older LG and the hatch rates I'm getting with shipped eggs.

RK at Columbus had them. 2 big tubs full. 2 different ages. And I'm thinking they were$3 ea. I bought 2 last fall at a swap meet, about a month old for 15!!! I'll be getting more of them at $3!! And the older ones hadnt been handles at all and were super wild.

Thanks! Do you know what RK's minimum is?? If they're like TS with their chicks, six is just too many guineas for me....
