INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

animal lover~ Mr. Frizz and Ms. May are adorable! Where did you get the new couple? I would contact the person you bought them from if possible, but I'm sure the experienced BYC members can help advise you about their health issues, etc. You might use Google, too, since member aren't always online. Definitely keep them isolated and as stress free as possible!!!

strssdmom~ I hate to be away from my hens even for a night. It's sick, I know. : - ) I worry about them like they're babies. The whole chicken infatuation syndrome is bizarre. That's why this site is so nice; we can relate.

kristy~ Your goat is precious. I wish I could have a goat, but my hens have already eaten my landscaping.

Please help us name our latest family member. Being less than a week old this little boy is a bottle fed ball of fire and sweet as can be.
What a cute pair!!

I absolutely love my pet goat! He isn't penned, just roams around the yard. He never strays more than an acre from the house. He greets every car that pulls in the drive, eats packages left on the doorstep, follows me everywhere...

Here he is being silly:

Animal lover, your second picture shows the characteristic black spot of a bumblefoot. You can try a bumblefoot surgery if you aren't too squeamish ( https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/236649/bumblefoot-surgery-with-pics-and-how-to GRAPHIC pictures, so be warned if you click). I've also heard of soaking the foot, but I can't remember what in. I will do some searching and see if I can find something for you. :)

AL - the rooster looks like he may have vent gleet. If that's what it is, it is "kind-of" like a "yeast infection" in a person. Or it could be lice or mites. If it's vent gleet, you should notice a "smell".

It looks like your new kids have some problems...is it possible that they could be returned to the person you got them from? Did you take the advice of folks here that encouraged you to not put them in w/the rest of your chickens until you quarantined them for several weeks?
