thanks for the info on silkies being dark, that mean my three chicks with fluffy butts are probably cochin?

I just gave 3 chicks the equivalent of a brazilian. Kinda feel bad about it, but it was that or worry the pasty butt would kill them. Because I couldn't tell if it was the actual problem or just getting caught on their fluff.

My favorite chick jumped out of my hands this morning and fell to the floor. I am 5'4" and was holding the 3 day old at about waist height. HAve I killed it? Its back inthe brooder and seems to be acting ok

Red paint. I wonder if it will be red enough lol. It's to match
the red barn in background.





Here, the newly installed rope to open the pop door. This will be
on the outside of the run, so we don't have to go inside to open it.

Below, I think the coop is possessed, whenever I try to get a picture
of the backside, something happens, like this blurry shot.

They rescheduled the coming of the baby. Will be going in tonight at 8pm. We got up at 4am for nothing. And couldnt really get back to sleep because they wanted us to call every 2 hrs to see if we can get in.

They seem to be pretty flexible; I've had them jump from about that height onto my concrete basement floor without ill effects. Unless they hit their heads, they appear to be okay.

Ok I had to share with all of you..so funny because by the looks of my silly frizzle roo I would have never thought he was "getting the job done"! But his mate has layed her second fertilized egg! Now here's to hoping if I leave them be that she goes broody!

My dads allergic to latex so I have to watch out when he's around

I have most everything on the lists I posted a few days ago. I do use nitrile gloves in there, they are a little tougher than latex etc.

Henny Penny is mean! She just pecked and twisted my arm when I checked for an egg under her. She's the only mean one I have, but she's laying. If I had more than the 4 of them laying she would be the best bowl of soup.
