INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Last year, 3/3 Barred Rock Pullets- 1/1 Light Brahma pullet- 1/2 Dark Brahma pullets from TSC were all COCKERELS! UGH!!! I was so frustrated. I know straight-run chicks are a "crap shoot" but when I pay extra for "pullets" and get that many boys it ticks me off. One or two...it happens but 3/3 was ridiculous. This year we have been dead on with our "pullets" so I hope you have the same good luck. You can usually tell by 2-3 weeks in most LF breeds. Bantams the same unless they are silkies. Then 6-8 months if they are good quality and 3-4 months if they are pet/hatchery quality. If you post pics on here we can try to help you guess. :)
Will definitely be asking everyone's opinions in a few months on my Black Orps!

Love finding this group.

From pictures we found last night, HOPEFULLY we only have one barred rock rooster....but that only leaves me 3 girls!! Still haven't figured out the 2 that can with the BR's but I'll giveit a few more weeks. Not sure about sex of the 6 RIR.... LOVE this site already!!!!

For those of you that do FF~ my hens FF has white thready stuff on top and smells SUPER sour. I didn't feed it to them this morning.... what happened to it? What did I do wrong? The babies FF seems fine.

what kind of feed is it your fermenting? How long did you let it sit? How much UACV did you use? LOL sorry for all the questions. Since we are in hospital answering tons of question I thought maybe you were jealous so I'm asking you all kinds too.

I apologize for my inexperience as I am brand new, but can u tell me more about "fermenting"...... What's that all about?!

LOL Cluck... here's an easy one... what's your favorite color?
Ok, layena, about a half a cup of acv, and I have been leaving the "liquid" in the bucket and just adding water and feed as needed.
When can you go home?
