Wow! Great work! Make sure to check your local home stores for oops paint. I have gotten some real steals that way.
I know it is only two sides that we see. Do you have plenty of ventilation and maybe a window?
Cannot wait to see it finished!

Jhfamily5- thank you for the offer! Very thoughtful. I really don't need any more chicks lol, especially bantam breeds as the eggs are much harder to sell. If anything, I'd just want another silkie or two which I just located a breeder locally while buying bedding today. Thanks again for the offer thugh!

Got my first coop built. Hoping to acquire my hens this weekend. They won't be shut up in the run except at night. We have a safe enough plot for them to free range. :)

I like it, easy clean design!

For those of you that do FF~ my hens FF has white thready stuff on top and smells SUPER sour. I didn't feed it to them this morning.... what happened to it? What did I do wrong? The babies FF seems fine.
If it smells off, I wouldn't use it either. They may have had something in feed that reacted badly. or somehow a bad bacteria killed the good ones. If its fed it down too far, (my kids...

) sometimes it can react badly.

LOL Cluck... here's an easy one... what's your favorite color?
Ok, layena, about a half a cup of acv, and I have been leaving the "liquid" in the bucket and just adding water and feed as needed.
When can you go home?
Thats what I usually buy the Layena, or if i get over to Rural king I get flock raiser. wheres your bucket at, inside or out?

I'm curious about fermenting as well...what is the reason for fermenting and how is it done?

Excellent probotics, helps their digestion and allows them to absorb more of the value in the feed. several other benefits, but bottom line saves about 1/4 to 1/3 of my feed costs
