INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

VERY NICE!!!! You should be proud! And your "kiddos" look very healthy (including the one w/the green shirt
tongue.png
)

Look! It's some newbie chicken people above!

Some pictures of the beginning of the run build:

We decided instead of burying the run wire 2 feet down (digging in very
hard clay soil) that we will lay it out 2 feet horizontally about 6 inches under.
Way easier this way, and the first 2 feet tall will be doubled. 2x4welded
and1/2'' hardware cloth. So far, very secure. Beer caps are cheaper
than washers to attach. Hope to get it all done this weekend.

Hard to believe they are only 6.5 weeks old, everyone said how fast
they grow but wow!

Look at the fast one running in this picture below. We are wondering
if we somehow got a bantam in with the mix of pullets we bought from
TSC, she is half the size of her chick mates.

Looking GOOD !!!!!

Too many awesome pictures! I need to get my first bunch out and get some more chicks in now!!! I'm HORRIBLE at chicken math because I seem to not be counting the roos at all and feel like I only have a handful of chicks when I bought a dozen....need more hens!!

^^^wow. I'm not sure paint can help that very much. However, we all know our bird brain chickens don't care, as long as they have shelter.
I hope my DW doesn't see the pallet furniture! I'll have another project after the coop. Not sure about the indoor tree carving for furniture. Outside, yes.

We have a rather tragic 8x8 deck... don't think he can make one to fit out there yet. Heck a fold out deck chair and we have eaten half the footage :D

I am loving the coop.. Really great paint job makes it look complete. Am I mistaken in seeing a Roo with your ladies? Show us a pic of the little chicken, maybe you did get a bantam.

I posted these on the cochin thread, but I had to share them with all of my indiana peeps. They are getting so jurassic. lol!

Poor chickens... thankfully the scary stage does not last too long. My cochin has finally feathered in the top layer so she/he looks all cute and round. Thinking of making my wee one build a lego city and setting a few of the dino chicks in it.... Rawr!!!!

It suck that I love all animals ig I could hold off on the ducks for one more year.

Yesterday my dad bout hit a squirrel cuz it was in the road my dad didn't hit it and the squirrel was still in the road I wanted to get out and check if it was of but my dad said no it might have rabies or ate some funny weed

Hi! I'm learning quickly how busy this thread is! We have 5 Buff Orpingtons, 6 Red Pullets, and 6 from the straight run so I'm not sure what they are. I don't even know if I have all that straight...lol. We picked them up at Tractor Supply on Saturday. We did lose the one we had to quarantine
hit.gif
but the rest are doing great so far. We are newbies!!
