Well here is goes... I had a great post started yesterday and of course, my iPad said 'no... I am not posting this, I am just going to close'. I was rather mad. So here it is again, with all the good bits missing as I have forgotten them since yesterday.
It has been around 2 weeks since I have really 'been on'. Work has been super heavy and pushing me to my limits. Our produce stand will be happening in about 2 weeks (fingers crossed) so until then I may be quite light on the posting but keeping up on the reading.
Too Fast - Ok, I chuckled at the noise. I did managed a video of mine crowing, but it is on my phone and I am not sure about getting it uploaded. Your Merlin sounds just like my little guy. A wet speaker the kids have poked in... Kinda garbled and weak sounding.
I did also discover an additional crowing the coop. I have NO IDEA! who is is. No one else looks obviously roo like. Might be the silkie... ugh...Have to have a peek in there when they are undressing for bed... See who is wearing jammies and who is wearing a nightie.
Salt - Welcome to the thread. I am loving the set up. As far as the comparison pictures... only thing wrong with it is the male is lacking a beer belly and the female is lacking kanckles
Glad you managed to help out one of the members with her roos. I got some chicks from Brad, best looking guys I have ever seen.
Pip - Many congrats on having another 'chicken of the week' picture. Beautiful as always.
AM - Good lucking souvenir!
Racinchickins - Welcome to the thread!
Kabhyper - Sorry to hear about Sparky. That sure does suck. Playing the blame game with yourself is not going to fix anything. Keep your chin up
Mother - I am just loving your Jersey. I am all smiley over the sneaky sitting on someone elses egg. She has obviously seen the movie 'Chicken Run'. Hahaa
Brad - Ugh... stop tempting me!... I see the lavenders and they make me melt. Even have a small soft spot for the nekkids
Update: The Cochins and Lavenders are doing wonderful. They are still in the house. Hoping they will be out soon, as much as I love them, they are a wee bit smellier than them being day olds. Will be posting pictures of them soon.
Vodkalady - Welcome to the thread.
Mr Tattoo - Great start on your build thread. Lots of pictures and updates are fun. Alot of people follow build threads.
Zeke - Welcome to the thread. Sure none natives are allowed
We are a super friendly bunch, glad you want in.
Strssd - Really nice to hear chicken therapy is working out for you. After reading about Mothers therapy too... Maybe we can market chicken therapy
For the silkies roosting... My guy goes not seem to roost. There is a cement block I have left in the coop since they were chicks as it was easier to get onto. He sits on that and occasionally has one or two friends on here with him, if not he sits on the waterter.I know silkies are flightless per say, but he has no issues getting into or out of the coop door. It is about 18" - 24" from the ground. Although there is a branch I wedge leading up to the door, but he still makes it to the branch.
