Looks and sounds good to me!

I don't get a chance to take pics of the new babies! Will try to get that done tomorrow!

For the last week we've had our bedroom window open at night, and we have a tree frog living and singing right outside it!! Driving me and 1 of our JRTs crazy!!! Well tonight we have 4!!! We have an open rain barrel and I went out and there were 3 little buggers in there swimming and 1 somewhere in the grass calling them!!! If they were bigger if be eating frog legs cause they're keeping me up!!!

I was wondering if anybody here happens to raise satin rabbits? I want to get back into rabbits and thats the breed ive picked just having trouble finding some.
Where in Indiana are you? There's a family in our 4-H rabbit club that raises nice satins. We're in Elkhart county & they live sort of in between Goshen and Elkhart. PM me if you want their contact info.

LOL. We've only had a couple tree frogs last summer. None yet this spring. You have an oasis! I wouldn't leave either :)

I'm just jumping in a minute to say THANK YOU to Quinstar who has been adding new members and their info this week. I normally do that during the weekdays, but have been busy with work and making avatars and didn't want to get behind on the list. I had not realized that when I asked Quinstar for help, she was in the middle of moving!! She insisted on helping anyway since spreadsheets come naturally to her-- unlike me.

We welcome new members and are happy to add info and make avatars!
Thank you both! Its a lot of work but I think its helped us all in one way or another. If anyone is interested in helping, we are looking for people familiar with google docs, or excel. Brainstorming new ideas for our member page and help keep our member list updated. PM Mother2Hens, Quinstar, CluckAcres, or myself and we will get you added! Remember to tell us your county & town, what chickens, other poultry, livestock etc you have or sell. You guys are all awesome, our thread is stronger than ever!

Shawna she is a cutie... mine is a lab mix/pit anyone know a good place to get her spayed?
Call your local animal control / code enforcement.. or the animal shelter, if they are doing their job responsibly, they should be able to provide you with phone numbers for some local options.

I set the cage and box on a ping pong table in the basement and scooped up a double handful of baby quail and put them in the cage. Got another handful to put in the cage and noticed that quail were running all over the table. They didn't even slow down as they ran through the 1/2" spacing of the cage wires. I finally got them all back in the box, but it was hard because I was laughing so hard that my eyes teared up. Added some screen wire to the cage and brought them home.

Quail are no trouble at all to raise. The only thing to remember is that they are small and adults can get though a 2" hole. Babies can get through a dime-sized hole.
Just want to clarify -- is 1/2" hardware cloth too big for quail chicks, then? We should get 1/4" instead?

I run my dogs along the fenceline to place their marks too. But unlike you, so far my husband is uncooperative. I guess I could do it, but doubt I could get away with it discretely...lol.

After dark, always. Lest the neighbors be aghast. And, or course, in my particular case, impressed beyond words.

I love hearing the spring peepers.

I always look forward to when they start & leave my window open at night so I can hear them. Of course, they're not right outside my window but across the back yard in the pond!

I should clarify that the spray repels gnats. Not people.

If only....

When I used to hunt deer, I found that doe-in-heat scent did an excellent job of repelling my wife. She still mentions that incident occasionally. Available at your local hunting supply store. Try some, everyone (except buck deer) will hate it and give you wide berth.
