INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hi, everyone. Tony here in North Judson. My entire flock was decimated by predators and THIEVES. I'm in the middle of a move and have all my money wrapped up in the new house. Could really use some help from my neighbors. I'll adopt any chicken, turkey, guinea, duck or pheasant. Thank you all.....Tony

you could also post in craigslist, good luck!

So obviously you can't leave fermented feed out all day. Do you guys leave dry out incase they get hungry? I'm nervous about just offering 2 meals a day to the chicks. The adults I'm not too worried about since they free range and can get more food that way if they become hungry.
I do offer dry to the chicks free choice as a suppliment, but once they go outside, its 2x a day FF only.

Quote: Oh my, they gobble it like piggies! I may try it on my goats, they are awfully interested in it. Will probably just offer the fermented grain with their feed,

Try craigslist usually tho all you see is free roosters or spent hens sometimes, but you might get lucky, also if you find a local free cycle try there. also some areas have free radio classified ads certain times of the day see if a near by station does this and listen or call....

I have a Production RIR rooster that is about 2 yrs old you could have free. I have a few production chicks as well. I was asking a $1 each for BYC members, but if you want all 8 we could say $5 total. I have several hatchery roosters that are around 8 weeks old. You can have any of them for $3 each. In September I will have hens for sale as well.

I know there are several others on here that are selling started chicks as well.
Tntbell- I live in a little town called burnsville (is now a part of Columbus). Inbetween north Vernon and Westport Indiana right before hope.
I used to have family in North Vernon. You are not that far from me.

Does anyone here have duck eggs or ducklings for sale? I'm looking for Khaki Campbell or maybe a runner.

herebynightfall~ I checked out your website and this thread is the perfect market for DIYers! There are so many resourceful members on this thread that are continually recycling old things into new things. Btw, your cockerel and pullets are cute!
Emily~ As you can tell by my multiple posts, there's no limit on posts, and it's good to hear from you again.

Haha, I guess I'm blind too! Thanks for making me look like an idiot

No, you're on the ball because you added that important suggestion three weeks ago immediately after Cluck's post. You just assumed I had not edited Cluck's directions. : - )
Cluck is the idiot for not putting it on in the first place! hahahahaha Just kidding, Cluck!

Silkies are hatching! It looks like one if the momma silkies was a little tramp and spent the night with an OEGB roo lol. Cute little thing though! It came from a tinted egg, so I don't think it a pure OEGB as my little girl lays white eggs. Ill post pics once they dry out more and can safely open the bator.

I also have BLRW eggs in lockdown! I'm excited to see these guys hatch (and I'm sure CountryHen19 is as well!)

Aww the little taboo chick- can't wait to see a picture!

And YES I'm over excited about these eggs :) hopefully at least most of them looked good when you moved them. I'd be jumping up and down but since I apparently have caught something since I've felt like crud all day and now I have a fever...ugh letting the emoticon do the work for me.

Off to lay down with popsicles, ice water and my tablet.

Okay, I have a question about getting these crazy chicks to like me. They're about seven weeks old now (I was never given their actual birth date, so it's an estimate) and they still run away from me whenever I go into their enclosure to give them food and water. Any suggestions on getting them to like me faster? The male seems interested, but the rest are super flighty, especially the smallest. They're wyandottes, and I've heard that this breed is particularly skittish.
