Does anyone know of anyone in northern indiana that has nice quality bearded silkies? I know of a few places south of Indy, but I don't want to drive that far, I don't hatch my own eggs, and I need pullets. So grown would be best. I want to breed My pullet and roo, and would like another color, since they are both blue. The lady I got mine from is out of the chicken biz now.

Thanks I wrapped her toe too just so dirt font get to it she's going to be an inside chicken for a week lol

Just can't resist sharing a pic of my beautiful ladies. Can you believe they are only half grown? They are turning out just amazing. Next year when these ladies start producing there should be some very happy 4-H ers in my area.
Very pretty! I love the fluffy orpingtons -- I wish my buffs were fluffy like these

A little shout out for help from all my Indiana BYC friends. I am an artist trying to build an audience. Facebook for all it's flaws, is a valuable tool in my venture to escaping the starving artist life. I am three likes away from 100. After 100 options open up so I may do more with my page. If you are on facebook please click like on my page. If you like the page please share it with your friends. Check out my photos as there are several Chicken art pictures. Also there are free drawings for prints from time to time. Really appreciate your help!

Looks great! Do you have a fenced-in yard where they will free range?

We are going to put a 12' x 4' run with it. Unfortunately, we can't do concrete as the coop is just under the canopy of a tree in our back yard. We're going with 1/2" hardware cloth all over and out to 20 inches along the ground. The timbers that make the base of the run will be staked down with rebar. The edge of the skirt will be staked plus covered with some edgers we have spare. We're fenced in so I'm hoping this much will be enough for our neighborhood. Fingers crossed.

Just caulked it. Going to get a few more support pieces in place then start on the run.

Thankfully we have some very nice friends who are raising out chicks for us as we have four cats. Didn't want to chance them at our house.
