Hi there fellow Hoosiers, ChickenIndy again. Thought I would post an update on our Greenwood Zoning/Oridence struggle.
We built a Chicken Tractor last weekend and transported it and our flock of 4 Hens to my parents house on Indy's South Side where chickens are allowed. They have adjusted to the move beautifully and seem to love the Tractor. I think the fresh grass, insects, and worms help. I need to figure out a roosting bar for the tractor and put on the wheels for easier moving.
I have setup a Greenwood Chickens Facebook page and have three dozen likes so far. We have around 5 people in Greenwood who are offering support thus far, so thats a great start!
This Indiana BYC forum looks to be an active place! If you have a minute please check out our photos and story on Facebook and click Like
umbup:.
If you can share it on your page to get it out there, that would be wonderful!

We hope to write our City Councilman once we drum up more support. Thank you all!

I don't know what is wrong with my yahoo account. It hasn't been getting any e-mails from here so I thought you guys stopped posting on here so I came back here to the site itself to see and lo and behold here you are still posting! I must remember to check this forum even when I don't e-mail from here. I loved everyone's chick pics and so sorry to read some have lost chicks and ducks to sickness and !@#$ing coons, etc. We have lost 2 chickens and 1 duck to a !@#$ing opossum and a coon.
They didn't eat them, just skinned and defeathered them and took the head off the blue swede duck!

I was iffy about these egg anyways bc I took them from a nest a hen sat on 2 days b4 the dog run her off. And I calculated incubation from the day she started setting not the day I put them in the incubator. Was that how I was suppose to do it? There are 2 that looks fully formed but on 1 the air sac is at the small end. :/ the second the air sac looked to be at the side near the top? I thought I saw movement in that one though? Maybe I should try again when I can get it darker in here? There are a couple that don't look fertile at all and a few that have grown but only fill about half the shell? I can't tell if theirs movement? Do I assume they just died b4 they got to fully grow? This is only my 3rd time incubating. I tried to look it up but I'm restricted and get shut down.
