INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Is anyone else worried about their coops in this bad weather we are supposed to get tonight? Maybe I'm just a worry wart.

Mine have with stood everything so far, so not to worried.

I maybe making a trip down south to Greencastle, IN from the Ft Wayne area in a week and a half or so. I don't mind playing chicken train if need be. So if you need birds or eggs picked up or dropped off along the way, I maybe able I help. I'll be traveling along I69 to 465 to I70. Of course if its not to far out of the way I can take other routes. I should know for sure within a week if I'm heading down. Let me know if anyone could benefit from this.

Brad is making a trip, maybe he could bring them towards you on his way home.

I'm in the middle of the path for Brad's trip. Right around 465. If anyone wants a 11 week old rooster, I have some from my fry pan deal. They are barred rock, Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red, and unknown breed ~ some kind of black chicken with a touch of tan on the wings and a rose come. $4 each since they are not fully grown.

And I can offer hatching eggs but the breed could be mixed. The hens are PRIR, the roos there is a PRIR and a BLRW.

John ~ Old Salt ~ We ended up giving away the rooster that we were going to process, DH is still not quite ready. I'm hoping he gets ready soon. And yes there was lots of teasing about his lack of manly hunting and killing skills.

Wow, how I didn't put 2 and 2 together on that I'll never know. Brad, I would be more than happy to meet you somewhere if picking up the guineas isn't too far out of your way.
haha my trip down there is actually to her house to pick up some cornish chicks lol. Just got to figure out if I can get there. In thinking next friday is when I wanted to go due to work schedule. Ill know for sure in a couple days if that will work and ill let you know

Kids free ranging. They are finding tons of worms today, maybe its a weather thing.

Mystery chicks from Cluck. EE/ leghorn X I think. Not sure if they are girls, they get along with my boys just fine. hey don't act like boys. But man are those combs pink!

OMG too funny!!! Let me know. I could meet you wherever on your way back or even drive to Warren to pick them up.

I have chicks hatching under a broody. 8 eggs. 7 externally pipped and the one that isn't is pecking away. I wish I was as good as incubating eggs as she has with her 8. Of course, at the same time, I be over run with chickens!!

I love your SLWs. I don't think mine is going to turn out that well defined. Though, I got most of my chicks from the feed store, so I really can't complain. My SLW's color isn't developing as well as my GLW.

I got mine from TSC. You might be surprised. :) Gus and Jules are 4 months old. They went through a very awkward couple of months just up until a couple of weeks ago.
