INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I listed my roosters on Craiglist.

I will not be sad if I can not sell the Sumatra, just don't tell DH that.

If anyone wants a stake on them, let me know. Offering them for free to everyone on here.

All hatchery quality bantams 20 weeks old

White Silkie
Black Sumatra
Mille Fleur (Noisy bugger I would eat but the meat would only fit on top a Townhouse cracker)

Also offering my Porcelain D'Uccle hen

I have heard they will. Its so adorable when they all do it. Usually I see them display when I add new babies to the coop or there is something new that freaks them out.
This lil poult got to come in to meet gramma. 2 weeks and displaying

Hehe, sounds about right. Glad is going well.
Oh geez, we've got to stop posting cute photos -- it makes me want to try out so many more birds & our barn is about out of room!

I'd love to try raising turkeys (maybe midget whites??) and posting this cute little turkling (turkey-ling??!!) doesn't help matters

We're still trying to figure out what to do with all our little ducklings who are growing pretty fast... Silly us -- planning and building a barn with stalls for something unheard of as goats or sheep when everyone knows the barn stalls should be filled with various poultry

I would love to get the loud one just because I would love for my neighbors to hear a loud rooster and realize mine is not so bad, even in hawk mating season.

But DH would not like it as I have too many young roos that I can easily pick one to keep for the winter.

Wanted to offer up chicks if anyone is looking for some. I have RIR and RIR / BLRW. They are about a day old. I'm asking $3 each or 4/$10 on Craigslist. $2 each for anyone here.
There are still some hatching so I don't have a final count yet.

I figured out what caused the black poo ... berrys we have 2 malberry trees in our yard and I guess the chickens got some lol
OH yup that will sure do it.

Phew, we bought 30 cinderblocks and hauled them home today.

May I ask why you are getting rid of them. Need new blood in the coop?

Crowing! I heard crowing today from my (little?) SLW roo!

Frankie is now almost 10 weeks and definitely not little anymore. I was surprised, because I forgot when they are supposed to start. I looked over and he flapped his wings, ruffled his feathers, and let out a rather hoarse, teenage-sounding crow attempt. A few more weeks and he'll get it down, right?

Thankfully, the neighbors said they don't mind him.

I counted 29 chickens total. Four of which are roosters. The oldest will be staying as he was part of my original flock and he looks after his 9 ladies he is with.

I just do not have ladies to match up with them. The Mille is rather dominant over everyone in the coop especially the other roosters. Even though he is a tiny thing he still sizes up to the Silkie and Sumatra. Think he would be better served with a few ladies his own size.
The Sumatra I would love to keep so if I can not find him a new home it would not upset me one bit. However he is still on offer.
The Silkie I am not 100% sure is a roo, but I really think so. I have yet to hear crowing from him although between the Mille and Sumatra he wouldn't be able to get a crow in edgeways :D

I need to down size at some point so I can make room for an EE rooster and depending on the outcome of my cochins (roos or hens) I would like a roo for them too.

If you have any interest in them, feel free to PM me. They are all healthy. Just not what I want for long term plans.
