INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Has anyone else read that Silkies can't fly? Because my birthday Silkie, Margaret, apparently missed the memo on this one and flew out of her pen this evening! She was almost invisible against the concrete floor, behind a pile of boxes at the back of the garage! :th Well, anyway, she's safe and sound in her nighttime cage now. :)

Beautiful, irtehun! I love blue laced reds! :love

Next I think I'm gonna add a crested chicken to my flock, and maybe a silkie, if I can find any in my area. Crested chicks are so cute!

Yup I've read silkies can't fly but that never stopped my hens!

Racin- love your advice!!! You sound like old salt now!! Throw em out the car door and let em mix with the flock!!! Lol

Crafty- well now you really need 2 of these silkies!! Surely 1 of them is a girl!!

So we took 3 Roos to my MIL for freezer camp tonight. So now I can move everyone else around and shuffle. And the big girls are so relieved. But it's kinda quiet out there!! So this means I have more room right. Lost 3 to dogs this week and 3 to freezer camp!! Wow. I need at least 6 to replenish!!

So anyone that is going Sunday?? I have 2 pair of golden laced sebrights to re home. Anybody interested? Free!! Very chipper little birds. I'd keep the 2 girls and put them with my mixed bantams if someone wants the Roos. One has a rose comb and one has a strait up comb. They were from Tractor Supply so they are just hatchery birds.

They are just the sweetest girls! I can easily pick them up and move them around. Thanks so much for taking back the boys and giving me these wonderful girls and my little Oliver. I have been carrying him around off and on since he has been back. He is precious. You and your family are really great people. Thanks again! Also side note I realized tonight that the indiana thread is so great on here. I have been looking at breed threads and some of the people are not nice! Yay for us hoosiers!!
I hope Godiva and Peaches does great for you. I tried to pick out 2 of the best from my flock for you. Godiva is really big and heavy isn't she! LOL  While we was talking I had a hard time holding her with out her getting away from me. She is very strong. Peaches layes good eggs. I have babies from her.  We enjoyed Olivers stay with us. He is one lovely boy. And I tamed him from the biting. It took a little time but I finally got him broke from him. He is very lovable! I still cant believe you got all roos from me! At least I was willing to take them back most people wont do that because they are roos. But as you notice on my farm I have roos everywhere and they all live in harmony together. The two EE roos i got back from you last night are doing great and they look awesome. Those roos are offspring from Peaches. I will definitely have to get pics on here of them.

Does anybody know anything about rose comb brown leghorns? All the info I have found did not anwser my question. If you breed a brown leghorn with a brown leghorn (both rose comb) will you get 100% rose comb brown offspring? I just assumed you would, but I also assumed that if you bred a blue ameraucana with a blue ameraucana you would get all blue offspring and that is definatly not the case. Thanks
