Hello guys, I've been keeping chickens for a long time. last week a chicken was lethargic, slow and not eating or drinking at all. I thought she would be dead by the morning, well she is still alive and she doesn't look like she is getting worse or better. at first i though she is gaping because of respiratory issues, no discharge, no sneezing , I've had chickens with respiratory infections and this is not it, regardless i started her on antibiotics but she is still not better and its been 4 days. I jumped to the gapeworm treatment and I gave her two doses of Fenbendazole but I'm afraid the tube i have is expired and too old so it might be ineffective. I did some research and said fenben and ivermectin don't interfere so I gave her today 1 dose of ivermectin as it is a 1 time dose and should be repeated later on in 2 weeks. Now i'm getting desperate , I'm hoping she will get better but until now she is still gaping and slowly very slowly wobbling her head right and left. you can hear her breath and sometimes even snort if i move her neck, she doesn't stick her neck out and she doesn't want to like she is staying tucked in. Sorry about the random thoughts here and there I'm just very confused at this time to what the heck is wrong with her. I looked down her throat , her trachea seems clear to me no obstruction to the entrance.
