INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

For those who do fodder, where have you found to be the best place to buy seed? So far I'm looking at seedfarm.com, but I'd love to get a mix of seeds and not all just one kind. I'm only looking at getting about 5# right now to give it a try and see if I can actually grow anything lol.

You could put them out with a heat lamp. Otherwise it is just too cold yet. What I would do is take them out for a bit each day and introduce them to the others. That is best if you don't have a grow out pen specifically for them. Can you section off part of the coop for babies/grow out?
I can, but it's a very low coop, I don't feel comfortable putting a heat lamp in it. As far as taking them outside everyday to introduce them, I was worried about temp fluctuations. Going from 73 to even the warmer 40 we have today seems like a big difference. Hmmm. Maybe I should bring the big silkies inside lol.
I had it this way when momma was brooding
This would be how I would divide it...

This is the coop...

So far my biggest section is about 12x24. However I'm getting ready to put up a 24x24 piece and also worried about it sagging too much. I'll likely add a post in the middle to help support it.

My area is 30X20ish and I have a couple of T posts in the middle but not ideally placed. I think I'll probably add a few more in the spring and it should be ok.

Yea!!! So glad they made it safely!!

I just can't get enough if these guys! I also have a sweet little hen (the oldest of all at 3 yrs old) that LOVE attention. She kept following me around! I need to pull her in and dry out her crest, but she is easily becoming my favorite.

Close up of the silver partridge (that's my best guess at his color). I actually love the rust color leakage!
