So according the the almanac's formula tomorrow and Sunday are in the "best" days of the year to set eggs that hatch in 21 days. Something to do with the moon pattern. I did not do the actual calculations but the days are listed on a website.
I'm setting tomorrow evening after I get tomorrow's eggs. Anyone else want to set some eggs too?

Keep those fingers crossed for me guys. This weekend is supposed to be hatching time for my broody. I am insane wanting to know if she has babies in those eggs. Tried to candle last weekend but could not tell.

Fingers crossed! I know how eggciting hatch time is. STILL is;-)

Welcome! I'm just south of ft Wayne in Huntington county. What'd chickens do you have? Based off your username, I'm assuming you have reptiles too? I used to have a lot of reptiles!
very very fair! I just ordered a dozen blue Cochin pullets and will cull down to the best ones until I can get some eggs, chicks, or pullets from a breeder.

Nice catch there Brad...I missed the reptile part of the name. Pretty bad considering we own around two-hundred ball pythons. I can hear the shrieks now. lol No but seriously you should check out the morphs if you haven't already. Balls are great snakes and the color mutations/genetics side of it is fascinating and never-ending. I will have to post some pics of some of my favorites if anyone is interested. The snakes are really my husband's passion, but I dig them too. You can check out his website here:

I have 3 GLS and LOVE the hen. One roo, Charles is psyco, William is somewhat social but timid.
Fergie is a very friendly and sweet girl. lays 2-3x a week. Mine are pet quality, all 3 have poor combs.
The boys did well, Fergie did great, she was in my breezeway till the sub zero passed.
The boys went to the porch. Anywhere unheated but insulated..I had birds all over!
I was very worried for the bantams, exotics and some of our waterfowl.
I have spoke with them, but my timing and theirs has not worked out so far. Doug Akers is very active in shows.
I love how their birds look, and have never heard a bad word about them.

I'm trying to find some more. Doug Akers? I know that name...he breeds 'brights?

I have a random question for anyone......  I have an add up on Hoosier Topics to sell my eggs, yesterday I get an e-mail from a person that says they have a farmers market and wants to buy my eggs for the market. I was wondering if anyone knows if I would get into any kind of trouble since the eggs he would be selling to the public as a retailer with a lic. are coming from me without a lic.  I want to do it. It solves my extra egg problem but I don't want any trouble. 
 Anyone know???  

You can sell your eggs to him, but it is illegal for him to sell them at a farmers market because your chickens have to be certified. If they were certified by the gov, it would be legal. But that means a yearly fee and tax for every egg sold. The Indiana egg law stinks, I sell most of my eggs on my property and I let them do whatever they want with them, that way there is no trouble. I don't have a license either, but its on the retailer if he does.

I saw the email from joann's and was really excited to see what size!
They have some amazing sales, I bought my serger from them 16 years ago.


Ugh thats top of my wish list but DH flat REFUSES to get any...
The fencing alone would be a huge price tag.
He said any bird that could be taller than him is not living here
We visited a farm up by Ft Wayne that had some, but the female was in boom mode the entire time.
She did not like us near her fence at all. Sooo that kinda nixed it for me.

I would love to get some! .... some day. I love the drumming sounds they make
