pollipazzi's 365 project

How close to an early settlement are you? I'm betting trash heap from previous residents on the land.
i don't really know. our house is probably 75? years old? i saw a map from 1850 something that said there was a little school where there is still a school now... behind us.
and there was a dispensary across the street. i have found a lot of old glass pill bottles. where my house is was just a field then.

there was a lot of digging done before and after we moved in from building, so it could have unearthed a lot of old stuff? but the attached neighbour used to have a gardener who was just as weird as me. i would ask him if he ever found any teeth in there. he said no. so i really don't understand that because we're only separated by a tiny wall. 🤷🏻‍♀️

8 new beds. 2 tonnes of compost. sorted.

🥵

also. this might be gross to most of you, but i found teeth today. lol!
it's been awhile since i found some, but when we first moved into this house, i was finding hundreds of animal teeth. nobody could tell me why they were there or why there were so many. and surely my neighbours all think i am weird now because i was so fascinated by it.

Well now I need to see more. They look like molars (assuming the tooth part is at the top of the picture) but I would need to see the chewing surface.
And how big? Horse? Human? Dog? And no skulls with teeth attached?
OK, now I am obsessed!

there were some horse teeth. my farmer friend told me that's what they were. they're huge! there were some that looked like hog fang things. i can't think of the word. but a lot of molars and tinier teeth. could be sheep goat cow? 🤷🏻‍♀️
i think i posted some on the other thread a long time ago. i'll see if i can find the pics again.

I get a lot of skulls and jawbones - some with teeth still affixed. Mostly they are large rodents like ground hogs and sometimes canids (probably foxes).
Don’t think I have ever found unattached teeth.

aha!
this was just some of them...

sometimes bones, but not nearly as many as the teeth. i think they decompose much faster.

i kinda wonder if it was just a spot a farmer buried his dead livestock. or maybe the whole village did? it's really strange.
