Just a forewarning. Sometimes cochins have fertility problems since they have so much fluff.
Yes, I've heard you have to trim their butt fluff if you are going for fertility

I received my cheepers from Brad on Friday. After realizing my camera phone was broken, it turned out to be operator error so I am finally able to share some pics of them!
Here is my home made brooder with eco-glow heater
And here are a couple shots of the little guys
Hopefully I can get some better shots when I take them out to clean. They are Birchen Marans. So far I'm thinking it is 1 girl, 2 boys because one is feathering out much faster and the other two seem to have a bit more comb. I'm happy as long as there is 1 girl in there! I'll probably keep a girl and a boy and re-home the other boy in a few weeks (once I am more certain of genders). I also heard back from Akers Hatchery (who I called looking for a couple more chicks to keep these guys company). They are going to start hatching in Feb. I'll probably get a couple Lavender Orps and a Frizzle from them once these guys move to bigger quarters
As long as these three don't talk me out of ever having chicks in the house again. So far it hasn't been bad except I had to bump my heat up way past where I am comfortable. I can't wait until I can turn it down again. It is downright tropical in here.
then came to US....
