I picked the hens. There were 13 of them. They will just be for eggs, they are from a hatchery. A mix of leghorns, black sex links, austrolorp (sp), and an unusually sweet production red.

Got a first egg today from a hen I hatched a long time back. It was a mix, one that took too long to lay. I showed my Dad the egg. While i have been getting brown eggs for over a year now, my dad looks at the egg and honestly asks if it is supposed to be colored instead of white.

Here is miss lilys eye. I bought tylan today and vet rx. She has duramycin in her water, but I would like to give her vitamins and acv. Anyone have any suggestions on the vet rx, or which antibiotic is better? I have't given her the vet rx or tylan yet.

Aww, poor lily. I have vet rx, it is like glorified vapor rub, but I have had work for some eye inflammation before. I have never used tylan. Maybe give one a try for a few days and then switch if you see no improvement. I hope her eye gets better!
