INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

So I just went out to get eggs and take some stuff to the compost and I heard my younger rooster crow for the first time! Pathetically but now I'm wondering if him and the older one got into it and that's why the older one is limping?!? I'll have to look closer at them tonight.

On this talk of netting. I have some really big runs, never had a hawk problem till this winter, and hawks have lived here for years. It would cost me thousands to cover my pens, so I've decided when it warms up , I'm going to try the big bale netting. it is like 7,000 feet for around $250. Anyone else ever tryed it ????
that sounds like a good Ideal, I feed round bales to the horses and cut them off before feeding, I am going to start stretching them across my run each time till it is covered and see what happens. you just got my brain going... thanks

will let ya know we get a new bale a week with this cold, so shouldnt take to long to get it covered, just hope 1 will reach across.

Thanks for that, Its sad because we depend on the 6 layers and now we are down to 5, I cant seem to find any local either. The Golden's are sweet sweet birds so nice.

I used to have some. No longer any pure ones but one of her offspring mixed with a brahma. She is shy but a sweetie. While I am sure it won't be the same as the original, farm stores are starting to get chicks and golden comets are usually a breed they get in. There is someone in ohio that breeds comets. If income across the link again I will post it for you. I hope I can find it again!

Sorry about your loss! Goldens are a red a red sexlink right? I've got some ISA browns that are coming into lay if you're near Indy and interested. PM me :)
