Oh my gosh, that poor dog. Thanks! It is a really great rescue and my parents wanted to give her every chance since she had such a horrible start to life. My parents have and will keep her sister. Here is an article about the danes and their rescue. It is so sad, I don't understand how anyone has it in them to be so cruel and do this to an animal.

The dane that had to go back is the one that is jumping up on the mans lap in one of the pictures. She only weighed 31 lbs when she was rescued - up to her eventual weight of 110 lbs. It really was a horrific situation and we will all miss her, but the story got such news coverage they don't think they will have trouble finding her a new home. They have already said she won't be placed anywhere with other dogs or children with her recent history.
Well, I'm glad she'll get a home where she'll have a better chance at behaving herself.
I used to foster dogs and I think it is a long, slow process of helping them recover.
