INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Found a good deal on a small coop for anyone needing a bachelor pad/bantam/hospital ward coop. Just wanted to pass the deal along!

Saw this today too. This is a coop we had looked into (buying the kit). So. if anyone is considering this is what we discovered: It does not have a floor (unless you build one) and reviews from people who had it more than a short period of time were not good - roof leaking and overall durability were the main complaint so since it is already used I was very wary about it. Now if someone has a barn to put it in it would make a very good little bachelor pad/bantam/hospital ward coop.

Hahaha I just used 6 eggs to make my sons birthday cake!!

we go through spells where we don't eat as many especially when I don't do much baking but I've had so much demand from hubby's coworkers our extra disappear quickly!
Children love cookies. All of my family recipes are for double batches as I grew up in a large family, my mom grew up in a large family, and so on for as long as my mother can remember. 5-6 eggs are needed for almost every batch we make. It is nothing for us to use 7 dozen eggs in a week.
My ducks should start laying soon. Since their eggs are about the size of 2 large store eggs that will cut down on the number of eggs used. The hot weather will cut down on the baking too. But Dh sure does love homemade eggnog. It is so easy too even easier than the homemade mayo.

Does anyone know where I can get a couple ameraucana/ EE chicks anywhere near Columbia City, IN? I was going to order a couple from mypetchicken.com but the shipping turned out to be $40 so I was hoping to find someone close by...

I have a couple I can part with they are hatchery (welp) if ur interested. I just got them today. I live in pierceton.

Can you tell me what "hatchery" means? I'm new... :) I bought my chicks at Big R in Warsaw last month...

How old are they? If I have 6 chicks now - 2 buff orpingtons, 2 RIR, and 2 black australorps who are about 6 weeks old, can I introduce 2 or 3 EE's? Or do I keep them separate in a brooder like I did with these when I bought them until they are bigger? I wanted to have 6 hens and I was told there was a 90% chance they were pullets when I bought them but I am pretty convinced that 2 of them are roos so they will have to go... I currently have my girlies in a shed which I converted into a coop... I was thinking if I had to keep these new ones separate, maybe I could section off part of the coop so my others wouldn't mess with them and then when they all get the same size I would try to introduce them to each other? How do you guys go about adding chicks with your current flock?

Are your chicks pullets?

Sorry for all the questions! If yours are females and you think I could buy a couple I would absolutely love to, you aren't far from me at all...

Hatchery means a large facility breed them, am I right guys? These are pullets, little gals. Less than a week... I don't think they would be safe around ur the older gals or guys:)

If I can buy a couple, I would love to... I will put them in a brooder in my garage with the heat lamp like I did my other girlies until they 4-6 weeks old... Is there any way I can send you a private message to see when you are available?
