I went out to water our chicks and found a mouse nest. So disgusting. It looks like our homemade trough feeders will be getting legs this fall when I ask Dh to make a few more, with legs too of course.
 
Hey guys, my 7 week olds have weird poo. It looks like undigested crumbles, but its rubbery. I was thinking tape worm segments but they don't seem wormy. Here is a picture. Sorry gross I know.
 
How I detest the season of "we interrupt your day for your regularly scheduled rain storm" -- it never fails to arrive at the end of my work day, that time I want to go home and sit outside with the chickens......beautiful ALL day and then 3 or 3:30 rolls around and BAM!

Our Indiana summer short-notice tornado left our chickens in their coop to fend for themselves, and a tiny bathroom full of house inhabitants waiting for the all clear.
It's still raining buckets, but when it slows down a bit, I'll go out and check on the girls.
Thinking of all the West-siders that had a close tornado call this afternoon...
