INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Wish I lived closer t ya all! I have a couple roos that need rehomed. Two BCM boys very pretty but still on the young side (pretty sure both roos, they both were trying t crow yesterday sounded more like a very stressed croaking)! One VERY large RIR/RSL cross. When I say very large I mean VERY VERY large! At least 18lbs and isn't a year old til January! He's crowing like a pro and can b heard three blocks away! Is way too big t mate my dainty little girls, every time he tries the get flattened by his weight, he needs a JG girl friend or two for sure! Why would a mix like that turn into such a giant bird? His shoulders are about an inch above my knee! If I can't find a home for this gentle giant he's going t freezer camp!

I got to meet @PeacefulWalls tonight. And what was really exciting to me was that I got to the rabbit barn just as her daughter was giving her presentation. All I knew was that the girl that was speaking had the same name as her daughter so I assumed it was her - and it was!

Loved her topic and her illustrations.

Felt like I just got there at the perfect time without even knowing! (Felt like a bit of Providential timing to me.)

Got to see all their rabbits which were beautiful - every one.

We walked through the chicken barn together and, of course, I had to look at the Boer goats and try to make some contacts there. Beautiful goats this year with healthy coats. Looked at the Jerseys (cows) and the beef steers too.

Then - I got rabbit noodles, rabbit bbq, and goat tacos to take home as my husband stayed home to take care of my dad. They were all very good but my favorite was the goat tacos and the rabbit noodles. (Too bad they didn't have rabbit burgers! Would have loved to try that!)

So good to meet you, your husband and your son and daughter too!

What feed do you use, it sometimes is a protein issue. Egg eaters are a real pain! There are several good ideas and threads about it. I tried the mustard inside an egg trick. they didnt touch it. Snakes can get in and eat eggs too.

Don't think its a protein issue my girls are treated t a cup or two of BOSS everyday. Along with their scratch grains. That's a daily morning treat and its all cleaned up in less than 10 minutes! The little piggies!

ETA: I use TSC brand Layer pellets as their regular feed but TSC was low and it was outdated so pucked up some Purina layer feed last wknd.

Sounded like a great time!

Quote: both are fine, so its not protein. Hope a few others can offer ideas.

It was so nice to meet Leahs Mom tonight at the fair! We had our own little mini chickenfest get together

. There were 2 coronation sussex in the poultry barn that I really loved -- never saw that breed before the fair. Maybe tomorrow I'll need to try the goat tacos too. Didn't know they were being served just a few doors down from the Bunny Hut!

I did like those goat tacos!

Hope the judges loved your daughter's presentation! If you have a link to the booklet I'd love that too.
