INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Ok, I'm asking. What is a bookshelf door? My DH and I are avid readers and keep running out of bookshelf space.

I'm curios too. I'm trying to decide if I can ask Dh to build some kind of toy organizer. This might work well. Donating more and more toys would be a better fix though.

Seems like I've read that the big egg farms store them for months in refrigeration before they get to the grocery store... I think there was an article on Mother Earth about being able to store eggs in the fridge for over 6 months with no ill effects... I would just stockpile them.

I should be getting ready to leave for Lville, but had to check the thread . . . I've always wanted a bookshelf that's actually a secret door to another room. I posted this before for a company I work for. The pic shows how the door opens to a storage closet.

My Silkies from bradselig are laying little, tiny eggs!

Mine isn't nearly that fancy, but I built it to be able to handle more stuff on the shelves. This is in the basement of my house.

This came about because we had an irregularly sized hole that we needed to cover, but still walk through with a full laundry basket. The bookshelf is 4' wide, and fully opens to a 4' pathway into the laundry room. I'm still tweaking it, but it works pretty well!

I've seen another design on pintrest for a pantry/bookshelf that fits in between your fridge and your wall, about 6" deep, but is 3' wide by 6' tall when you slide it out.

PS: On the poison ivy - Anyone have any non-toxic/non-chemical ways to kill PI? I'll try whatever works!

I'm even thinking I'd hire someone to remove it if I could find a place that does it without chemicals that would hurt the animals.

I burn it with fire, like the wrath of an angry God, then salt the earth.

I do have a Jewelweed tincture that seems to work on the rash. Also just plain peppermint essential oil.

BUT...
Can't use anything so close to the eye. Right now the face is just swelling and no rash but have had rash in other places that I use them on.

From what I've read, burning can cause some extreme reaction if inhaled... lungs, trachea, etc.

OTHERWISE I'D BURN RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

(At this point I might even try that on myself

YIKES!

LOL chicken crack! Thats what fermented corn is here. I may try BOSS fermented, but the hulls may be a problem.
The BOSS floats, so it is difficult to ferment, but going on what Leahsmom told me, there is not a real need to ferment the BOSS so we just toss it out for them. .
I've been asked for them, so here you guys go. These are some of my non-chicken pets:
WOW!!! My daughter thinks you have the coolest place ever! We need to take a field trip to your place! Sometime this next year we have to head that way for a robotics tournament, maybe dd and I will skip out and come visit you while the boys compete!

For anyone who can take it (not pregnant, nursing, or other drug contraindications) hydroxyzine is miraculous. I'd mail you some if it weren't illegal (pm me your address).

it is the eyes or any other areas that would be hard to use an herbal solution on that really make me recommend the more medical approach.

Will these kiddos be for milk?
eventually. Right now the older is about 3 months and the younger 2 months. If they both come into heat by Feb 2015, then hopefully I can locate a stud service for their March heat. Then 5 months later (Fall of 2015) kids if all goes well. I would prefer to stagger the kids but stud service would be greatly simplified if I get all the does pregnant at the same time. If they are not in heat by Feb 2015, then there is a good chance that I would have to wait till at least November 2015 for them to go into heat. A November 2015 mating for a spring 2016 kidding might cut into my 2016 egg hatching or chick brooding so I'd really have to give it some thought.

I have BABIES!!!!! I put six eggs under broody wyandotte, four blue out of a crested cream legbar with the possibility of a crested cream legbar dad or a mottled java dad, and two brown eggs likely out of a barred rock with the same potential daddies. She squished one blue egg early on, so five eggs went into broody lockdown. Three babies hatched, one of the blue eggs seemed to be a dud and one blue pipped zipped and then died at some point (sad). I think the blue egg yielded a crested cream legbar girl. Out of the two brown ones I got light brown, slightly partridge chicks. It will be interesting to see what they all feather out like! Also it has been hilarious watching broody try to keep track of all three, she is super stressed out over it. I can't even imagine what she would do with more babies!

In other news, Miss Teen Mom Broody (age 6 months) went into the klink to try to break her. She is being super persistent.....
