Picked up two foster puppies last night. Initially, I was told they are 6 week old Lab mixes. Based on experience, I expected Pit mix, but breed was unimportant.
So, we're expecting 2 bouncing, pot belly, lab pups, ready to have a safe place to get older in preparation for adoption to their forever home.
When we picked them up, they definitely were not 6 weeks old. I would guess more like they just turned 5 weeks.
DW was less than enthused at the idea of potty training 2 puppies, but she had a chance to say NO before we brought them home...
Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well.
So adorable! I wonder why they were taken from the mom at 5 weeks. Hopefully one puppy helps train the other how to go potty outside and it will be easier than you think.
my DW & i are on FB + our dog has a page, but havent created a page yet for the farm / chicken business. i used to have a website for musical instruments & accessories, but dont anymore - i may include a little of that again someday
Your post made me chuckle because I do the same thing. If I have to come downstairs in the middle of the night to let the dogs out, I spend my time waiting for them by checking the posts. I'm sure we're not the only two, too!
My cousin lives 15 minutes away from Terre Haute, so if you want some just let me know! He got the parents from Murray McMurray Hatchery-these were the best two out of the bunch he uses to breed.
for me and the 2 yolk eggs I have tried to set, not a one hatched. I have had 2 or 3 start but stop, then the rest just were blood dots at most or complete clears.
Yes her crest feathers are about half way grown out. I had to pluck out some broken ones so they'd grow back sooner. I cleaned up the back of her head with peroxide then dried it off and put neosporine on it. She had a couple pretty deep cuts on her head from being pecked. It's all healed up now and she is the Queen of th Polish pen. Now I need to find a nice polish roo for these girls. Lol
