Wow everyone must be busy today!

I know right! I stayed home sick today and am bored out of my mind, because no one is posting anything

My new white rock cockerel

My new mottled cochin bantam pullet. It is hard to get a good picture of her.

Blue Ameraucana head shot

Here is a picture of the rooster in the quad of OEGBs I am trying to sell. He is a sweet boy.

Inside shot of the first breeding coop, before I put the last wall up.

In terms of the little coops they sell at rural king, I can house about 10 chickens in this lol. I will probably put a quad in each coop. Each little coop is also attached to a 10ft by 5 ft run

I really like your white rock! He's pretty!! Your coop looks great too. Are you going to use them for LF or bantams?

Could be worse, we have been smelling decaying mouse at work for two days. I reported it yesterday morning and a facilities worker stopped by and said "yep, there is a dead mouse in a trap, I'll send someone to remove it"......then nothing!!!! It is between the cubes right across the hall from me - about 10 feet away.....

It is foul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother of the year was out in the yard puttering around without her children this morning. I sprinted to the coop thinking my worst fears had been realized and they had been shoved off the tall roost and died, nope they were just stuck on the roost unsure of how to get down and mother of the year blew them off. I seriously think she is considering cutting the cord completely at 4 weeks old! I would have expected at least a couple more weeks of nurturing! It will be a bit of a relief to have them all in the coop, I was having to feed the babies on the floor in the shed and it was making my mouse problem even worse. Now I can start combating the mice again.

Thanks. I am building 5 pens and 5 coops. I will be using them for both. I will likely end up using two pens for ameraucanas, two for white rocks, an one for my mottled Cochin bantams. I will have room for a few more AMs, multiplvmore white rocks, and a few mottled Cochin bantams. Which is good because I am pretty sure two of the three will be at Lebanon and from good lines!

Ugh that's awful! I guess if maintenance doesn't have to smell it it's low on the priority list.
Glad your babies made it through the night. How long do hens usually mother chicks? I have my first momma hen right now :)

Awsome! I'm really hoping I can make it to Lebanon this year, it'll depend on if baby decides to come early or not though.
