Yay, grammar! Oder, Grammatik.
I'm only on my first semester of German, so I've had a grant total of one week of it. But I plan on taking 3 semesters of it, mainly because if I do, I don't have to take speech. At any rate, I'm still trying to learn the word genders, grammar, sentence structure, etc. I have a long way to go!

I wish you luck on your German! I found its pretty easy after getting the hang of the word genders and the pattern for verb conjugations(with the exception of the weird ones like mögen) and sentence structure.

I hope you guys don't mind if I brag alittle, But my Daughter Just won Champion Waterfowl, at the show in spencer. She is thrilled She only took 5 ,birds, 3 call ducks and 2 chickens, but did real well

Her 3 calls got
1st, BV, BB, Champion Bantam Duck , then Champion waterfowl
2nd, RV
3rd,

Her Bantam Ameraucana got. BV, BB, Then Res. Champion AOCCL
her Bantam white rock got 2nd.

Those look like normal cowlicks to me. Mine have them in the same areas except the ear one but I do not have Nubians so I would think it is normal.

Normal, the thicker the coat gets you will notice it more

Are these cow licks a desirable trait or will it make them not as high quality for breeding.

I do not believe it matters. They are not considered bad or good just normal hair patterns. Show goats are generally clipped for a show, so that would not be noticeable.

I'm actively searching for a trio or quad (or two) of good quality SOP Single Comb RIR, Rose Comb RIR, and Barred Rock around Indiana. If anyone has any leads on any, please let me know via PM any names, numbers, or e-mails. Thanks in advance.

Also, we booted ALL except three of our little ones out into the main flock today. I need my two indoor grow out pens to set aside my Australorp trio and to break some birds that have been sitting broody for literally 3 months.

Tomatoes & green beans to can. Pick the soybeans (edamame) that are ready and freeze them. Pick and can red beets if I have time (going to make pickled beets -- yum!). Garlic is ready (past ready actually) to dig and start drying. Oh -- and I have to figure out what music I'm playing (piano) for church tomorrow! Also need to get to the nursing home today or tomorrow and give Mom a haircut....Glad it's a long weekend!

Got a late start so finishing up the tomatoes now, then I'll start the green beans. I'm so proud of my son -- he's 13 (8th grade). I had him look up on line how to harvest edible soybeans (it's been about 10 years since I last grew them). He read what to do, then went out and picked the beans that were ready -- still have a lot that are too green yet. He got them all washed & then I told him how to blanch them. After he got that done & they cooled he shelled them all, put them in a freezer bag, labelled them & stuck them in the deep freeze. Start to finish he did everything! I was totally impressed -- and he didn't even complain about doing it. I think he actually liked doing it (he got to watch a video while he was shelling them so that helped...took twice as long as it should have, but I didn't care!!)
