In other news I lost my rooster last night DH went out to take care of the animals and found him dead under the roosts. Unfortunately he then chucked him in the neighbors brush for something to eat him so I have no idea why he died either.

I'm sorry but that did give me a chuckle! I shared with my SO telling him that sounds like something he would do! I am sorry about your loss though! Atleast he didn't just disappear. .I hate it when that happens!

I got my yarn yesterday and dove right in. I used up all of my rug yarn but I have something really soft to squish my toes in now. First project finished. It gave me something to do while my little paints hatch.

@ Kittydoc, my serama isnt eating and hasnt pooped yet. I think i have tried every thing except tube feeding. managed to get 3 swallows today w// yogurt and some vitamins sprinkled on top. been dipping it beak in vitamin water for 2 days now. doesnt seem to want to peck. it is day 4 and it is so tiny i cant see nostrils. any suggestions , anyone ??

Had an interesting day today.

Last night I got a response to my CL ad for my turkeys. It was a lady asking if she could 'rent' a turkey for a couple of hours....That got my attention.

Turns out she is in marketing for one of the indycar race teams and wanted a turkey to appear in a Thanksgiving promotional video. Long story short, I spent part of today at Indianapolis Motor Speedway today herding a turkey around. I had to get him to walk across the Yard of Bricks on the track and to stand next to the President of IMS while he gave a Thanksgiving greeting. It was pretty cool! He even gobbled a couple of times during the taping. They promised me copies of the pictures and videos after they finish editing. I'll post them here when I get them.

speaking of turkeys. Is my tom's face supposed to turn blue when he puffs and all that is red gets larger?

LOL yep! He is displaying. He is trying to impress his hens and probably you & the family too

DH loves to have gobble contests with my toms, too funny!

We plan to process some birds tomorrow. Anyone interested in $10 roosters or khaki laying ducks? I'm not sure we will get to the ducks, we will be starting with the roosters.
I get my buck tomorrow too. He was going to come on Sunday but plans changed with the rain and I am getting him a day early. He is a glistening black Nubian buck with frosted ears and some white around his belly.

Ugh, no and no. I am still considering reducing more of the pekin. DH reminds me (rubbing his belly) you know you only had 5 ducks and 2 drakes last year! I just eyeroll him

He and the kids are just crazy about the roast duck. I have 1 drake I have to chase every evening to coop, he will be first if I do!
Awesome news on the buck! Can't wait to see him

Sorry to hear that Granny H. Is it safe to use a dropper and give it some vitamin water/ electrolytes that way? good luck hope that little cutie pie pulls through

not sure. i dont even think a dropper would fit . its that tiny.
