i thought i'd share what i recently purchased as it can be useful with the holidays and a lot of us make homemade goodies. i ordered 2 different stamp kits so when i gift friends with things from my garden and kitchen they would have a nice label to know where it came from.
i looked at amazon and etsy to see if there were anything cheaper available/comparable but none of the ones i found appealed to me they seem dated or not very attractive. i just got them today and they look very nice. i like how everything came in one box so no need for me to find something to keep everything in the kit together.

The New York Times did a nice piece on Schmaltz which is rendered chicken fat and useful in cooking, here's a recipe:

i wonder if anyone on here has tried making it? i'm curious about the taste of the final pie crust when adding it to pastry dough instead of lard. it makes one ponder if all fat taste the same lol

Those are really cute! Hopefully next year I'll have some more time to of homemade gifts!!

On another note I must have some more pullets laying cause we got 11 eggs today!!!

Wow! That's incredible. I have 14 chickens and only 3 are laying. (Well 13 since one is a roo.) My 3 hens do not lay daily. We got 9 eggs total last week. No one is enjoying these short days, but at this point I think it’s too late to add light. Can’t wait ‘til spring!

you can fix almost any screw -up in the kitchen with bacon grease.
