INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Wanted to share a few pics of some of the boys. They are turning out so beautiful.
This is Oliver, he is an olive egger I think. He is an easter egger/ black copper marans mix. He is just apsolutely handsome.

This little guy has to be one of my favorite bantam cochins. His name is Thor, he also has a twin named Loke. I just love his bubbled butt. For any of you cochin peolpe out there how does he look? I was thinkng of letting my daughter show him in 4-h this summer. We are very new to this and don't know exactlly what to look for.

And these guys are the newest members of Chick Commander Farm. They are just gourgous. I especially like the darker girl for her coloring and lacing. Their names ar Mufasa (roo), Sarabie, and Nala. What do you guys think about them?

What color would these guys be considered?
I really like Thor's coloring!

Hey all! I just thought I would pass this listing along in case anyone knows of someone shopping for acreage near Indy. This is the house at the end of my street. The guy that owns it is crazy and we would like for his house to sell so we can get rid of him! It is a 2,000 square foot home above a big barn (he calls it a "barn" but since the floor is concrete I think of it as a garage). Anyone want their animals living underneath them? You would appreciate it during the Winter! The parcel is just under 6 acres. The only drawback is it is right next to Michigan Rd. Location is less than 20 minutes to Noblesville, Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville and Indy. Less than 40 minutes to Lafayette. He had it way overpriced but has now dropped the price.

@ellymayRans
has great Marans.  I have some and love them. Pretty birds and very large chocolate eggs.....

Thank you for the wonderful compliment!
I will be setting up breeding Black Copper (which is what you have), Blue Copper, Golden Cuckoo (sexable at hatch) and Splash Marans. I never hatch very many but just love the breed and to help preserve/improve the breed is a big win for me. I feel there are so many that breed and sell way too many that aren't up to SOP. People don't get what they pay or hope for with egg color and I just hate that! I see so many people post about buying them and they do not even look like Marans let alone the egg color is a joke!

Ok haha sorry didn't mean to get on my soapbox there! I graciously step down!

Thanks for listening! ;)

Looking for bearded silkies. Color does not matter. Near Indianapolis please.

Brrr, just got in from doing a count for the Great Backyard Bird Count! It's s-s-so c-c-cold out there!

Mom and I also just ordered our Chickenfest shirts now that we actually have money! :D I have no preference for the other two shirts, but mom would rather have a hoodie. Color doesn't matter. :)

Now, to catch up on posts... EDIT: Good enough. Nice pictures, y'all. :D

I thought about counting my birds the other day. It was warmer then. For now I'll pass. I'll use counting the newly hatched chicks as a substitute.

Thanks for the hoodie vote. I need more votes to come in. Right now I don't have enough votes for either item to print. There is a minimum of 10 or so for an item to print.

And of course for anyone out there looking for straight run day old chicks, I have a few that are a week old and I should have a few more hatching by Tuesday and Wed. None of the BLRW, RIR, or legbars yet. But maybe a few sumatras and a few mixed chicks. The mixed chicks are fast growing and they have a nice look to them with either a bit of color or lots of color. They should lay an X-large egg that is a bit on the olive side as they have both blue and brown egg laying genes.
