This is why I'm contemplating those geese. It would be great if they could protect from hawks and fit in with the flock.

Goodness bottle babies are a challenge. Congrats to your son!So far our new chicks from BigR are doing good, our new baby triplet goats are doing good we have been bottle feeding the smallest doeling (real tiny!) just so she can get a good start she seems to be a bit weak. Hopefully she is doing well in the morning. Busy busy day today. My son won his wrestling tournament he went undefeated and his school also went undefeated for the day!!! Very proud dad in so many ways!! Everyone have s great evening
TSC has them marked way down too, I really wanted to get one. Adorable chicks! So our day started out the door at 730am with a basketball tournament and wrestling tournament! Running like crazy back and forth between Martinsville and Center Grove! Finally got home around 530ish. I did swing by the TSC in Greenwood and they had about 4 bins .. 1 of ducks (so cute) I have to tell myself Nope every stinking time I see them. ..1 with white Cornish Rock crosses. First time I've ever seen them and peaked my interest for a meat bird. The last bins were RIR and sex link. I did find a winner there though! Clearance $19.99 Greenhouse! So excited because I decided to do my own starts this year and was going to build one but hey I can stomach $20 bucks!! Such a great find..well at least I think so! Haha!
Then made my way to my local RK and they had a new bin of Hatchery choice layer bins. One of the bins appeared to be all EEs and with my hatch only producing 2 chicks I went ahead and picked out 8 of them. I have a hatchery EE who is 5 this spring and she's still one of my most reliable layers and during the laying season she'll give me just about an egg a day.

I had a really bad run a few weeks ago, Confined bantam breeds. Sharp shinned hawk pair actually entered an open shed, and squeezed into large wire dog crates, killed my frizzle silkie roo, NN hen, Buff polish roo and kept coming back with no fear! My guinea finally killed them, but had a lot of loss.
It really tore me up,. Lila my NN was an adorable sweet hen, Penelope my BP rooster was a sit in your lap fella. The small hawks are very aggressive, My geese don't travel to that end of our property. My guinea killed the hawks but not before they took a lot of beloved birds. Guess I need more Guinea.

Life events..... I am drastically downsizing, actually selling out for a while on our livestock, waterfowl and poultry.
Not my choice and I am sick over it to post this, still struggling with it but realize its the best for my birds, and livestock.
Family health situation and its just not workable again another year, I want to be sure what I have is going to have proper care.
Guys I am just overwhelmed and I am worried I can't care for my critters properly. Just heart broken to make this choice ...Life events have given me no option.
I am sick over it but I want my babies to go to caring and loving homes. Craigslist is by far my last choice to find homes for my birds and livestock.

Oberhasli goats.. 2 bred does, 1 buck. Does are 2nd year freshened and will likely produce 2 kids each.
Have a lil pigmy gelded fella Buddy, too sweet and just a pet. Not papered no pedigrees on my goats, I don't show.
2 hogs, 1 black boar, 1 feeder york.A potbelly sow that's a doll. My black boar will make a very sweet group of piglets, he is just loveable and friendly..
Chinese and embden geese, Chinese are true pets, this is the hardest for me to let go and just tears my heart out.
Muscovy ducks, lavender, chocolate and black, several pied and barred.
Pekin ducks and drakes, one cayuga hen
Blue swedish ducks & drake trio.
Several chicken breeds, EE, SLW, BR, RIR, WL NJ, OEGB, MGB lots more
Midget white and bourbon red turkey breeding trios.
Guinea, pearl, lavender and some oddball white that were abandoned here.
PM if interested, I am rehoming everything I have, and they will need to go pretty fast.
