Congratulations on going to RK and not buying chicks! Congratulations also on finding some awesome goats!
Regarding turkeys, RK sells BB turkeys only, whereas people here will sell/breed heritage because BBs don't breed naturally and have very short lifespans and are very prone to numerous (largely fatal) defects and health problems. If you're looking for pets, lawn ornaments and slower growing, self-sustaining flocks, GO HERITAGE. Don't even let yourself look at the broad breasted varieties. I speak from what's now a wealth of experience and research on the lamentable differences of turkeys breeds. I raised one last year, and I was still stupid enough to get a few more this year. I love turkeys. They're far worse than chickens for 'gateway drug' tendencies. They are my bane, and I'm hopelessly in love and addicted to them.
Don't get turkeys unless there is room in your hoodie for company because when they're tiny, they crave mommy far more than any chicken. They can peep themselves pretty much to death, crying for your loving touch and warmth (no matter how much company is in the brooder, no matter how toasty and comfy it is). I've been up past midnight several nights since getting my latest poult fix, with anywhere from one to four of these little boogers in my hoodie with me. They're like human infants in the fact that they will call to me just to make sure I still exist, and boy have I had to work on my ninja skills since these babies have come to our house! On the plus side, they usually only need a couple late nights of cuddling before calming down (very much unlike children
